Legacy of a Monarch-an American Journey by Jan Sumner

Post by dominatrixofbooks »

I am not a baseball or history buff but I have to say this book really intriqued me. The foreward is by President Bill Clinton and the introduction is by the former Colorado Rockies General Manager Don Baylor. This book has even been accepted in the Baseball Hall of Fame.

The reason I read this book was because my son needed to do a book report. He HATES to read but really got into this book. It was interesting and inspirational. This book is about an exceptional man who lived during a fascinating time. Byron Johnson is the grandson of a slave who overcame financial and social obstacles on his way to a college degree and a life devoted to education and to making the world a better place.

I believe it is Amazon Kindle. We read it in ebook form. It was under a dollar and easy and quick to read.
