The smartest person in the room
Practice solutions to cyber security skills gap and the
lack of quality talent, insecurity, fear, defensiveness and winning the cybersecurity war. 4 year college degrees with practice certifications. Why are we losing the cybersecurity war; Kaizan: limited mindset, too much awareness and mono tasking. Evolution resulting in the need for the silver bullet to bring down AI and OS devices and NLP gone wrong that take over businesses or steal social security ID numbers and cybercriminal activities.

This sounds like an interesting new perspective on the cybersecurity issue. I wouldn’t have thought to address it from the interpersonal relationships angle. The repetition in the book could prove to be a problem, as could the tone, but it otherwise sounds like a well-informed book that could be read by anyone looking to improve their emotional intelligence. Thank you for the helpful review.

People skills are always very important in any industry, and it's great that the author shines light on its importance. I don't read non-fiction, so I'll pass on this book.

Sounds like a great guide for IT professionals. However since cybersecurity is not my thing, I'll have to pass on this one. But will definitely recommend this to people interested in the genre. Congratulations on being listed as Book of the day.

Thank you for your informative review. I'm glad you did like at least most of the book. While I did take computer programming in college, I never went into it and now I'm retired. So as far as employment in IT goes, it's not for me. I did find the Secure Methodology technique interesting. I also liked his simple but straightforward way of writing easy to understand.

In certain types of careers there are those that are extremely intelligent but those people may lack skill in handling personnel. From the review it sounds like "The Smartest Person in the Room" by Christian Espinosa could be a book that can teach people skills through a system that the author has developed. Although the book garnered only three stars out of four, the reviewer stated that the book did have valuable information for those that need it.

The book emphasized on how cybersecurity officials need to be passionate about their job and possess emotional intelligence. I'm just heard about the Secure Methodology. The author outlined seven steps in the Secure Methodology technique. I hope the negative aspects the reviewer pointed out is considered. Congratulations on BOTD.

Although I'm not in cybersecurity, this book's emphasis on communication and empathy is valuable for anyone. I'm looking forward to the exercises and the 'Kaizen' step!

When I started reading your review, it surprised me that communication, empathy and emotional intelligence could be the solution for cybersecurity problems. I thought I might read the book, however being so detailed in explanation and repetitive, it could be a bit boring for me. Thanks for the review! :tiphat:

I removed a star because half of the book sounded repetitive, and the writer’s tone was too direct.
- That's true. If the book is about people skills, then its tone shouldn't be so direct and harsh. A very good, informative review. Thank you.
