The 19-Day Basketball Blueprint for Players: How to Dramatically Improve Your Basketball Fundamentals by Lee DeForest is a comprehensive guide designed to help players enhance their basketball skills in just 19 days, focusing on the core fundamentals of the game. This book encourages a growth mindset by drawing inspiration from basketball legends like Michael Jordan and Kobe Bryant. It provides actionable steps for all-around improvement in basketball, catering to aspiring professionals, players seeking refinement, or even amateurs looking to elevate their game.

One remarkable aspect of this 19-Day Plan is its structured and time-bound approach, enabling players to witness significant progress in a short span. It explains the importance of mental preparation and nurturing a growth mindset, skills that extend beyond basketball and are also valuable in life. Often, fundamentals are overlooked, and players dive straight into the game without first mastering these critical building blocks for success, but this book draws the attention of players back to the importance of the fundamentals of basketball.

I love how, despite its concise length, this book contains well-detailed lessons to transform one's basketball skills. It offers a systematic and organized approach to skill enhancement, making it accessible to players of various levels, from beginners to advanced, and even amateurs like myself. The book delivers actionable steps, drills, and exercises that players can readily incorporate into their training regimens, facilitating tangible skill development. This hands-on approach ensures that readers can immediately apply what they've learned to their own game.

I found no reason to dislike this book, as its clarity, brevity, and straightforwardness made it easy to comprehend. However, including an age-range recommendation for readers would have been helpful, as some exercises may not be suitable for individuals of all ages. Additionally, this book was professionally edited, as there was just an error contained throughout it.

I rate this book 5 out of 5 stars because of the reasons stated above and also because it offers a comprehensive approach to improving basketball skills, covering a wide array of aspects, including mental preparation, shooting techniques, defense, and conditioning. This extensive coverage proves valuable for players aiming to enhance their overall game. Moreover, the inclusion of a 19-day program featuring daily drills and exercises provides a clear and structured path for skill improvement. This structured approach will aid players in setting goals, maintaining focus, and monitoring their progress over a defined timeframe.

I highly recommend this book to beginners, intermediate players, and advanced athletes seeking to elevate their basketball skills. Coaches and trainers searching for a well-structured training program and insights into mental preparation can use this book to design effective practice routines for their players. Furthermore, parents of children interested in basketball can use this book as a guide for their child's skill development. This book is not limited to a specific demographic, as a broad range of readers can benefit significantly from its content.
