I sampled this book and I agree with Sophie on all points. I too liked the quotes from the Bible supporting the arguments and the pea scale experience from the author's life. I would also recommend this book to Christians who are trying to work out balance in their lives.

This book seems to help people, mainly Catholics, with the topic 'How to have a balance between normal and our spiritual life'. And as a Catholic, I think this book is for me.
You may not be the center of the entire world, but you are the center of your own world.

A God-Balanced Life: Who or What Are You Yoked Up With? is a Christian self-help book authored by James Puckett Sr. that gives Christians an explanation of spiritual balance. The author talks about the importance of living a balanced life as a Christian and the benefits that come with obeying God. The Bible is a guide for every Christian, and Jesus is the model to follow. So living in Christ and obeying the word of God strike the perfect balance.

The author talked about issues that have generated discussions over the years, such as tithing and attending church meetings on a regular basis. The way the author used instances from his personal experiences really impressed me. For instance, he discussed the value of tithing and the extent to which it might advance a person. He gave us an example of a time in his past when his finances were in disarray and he neglected to pay his tithe. I learned a lot while reading this book, but the advantages of tithing really stood out to me. You are merely robbing God when you fail to pay your tithe. And there is a consequence.

Several other valuable matters are discussed in this book. like self-control, learning how to be content, living and studying the word of God, obedience, faith, and many more interesting subject matters. "Be content with what God has blessed you with." "And if He desires for you to have more, He will open the door for it." This was a statement by the author that really got my attention. Nowadays, we live in a world where many people are never content with what they have. Their appetite for more is ever-increasing and insatiable. The love of money and its consequences was another amazing topic that was dealt with in this great book.

The author used Bible verses to back up his argument, which made the book even more interesting and valuable. Several bible characters were featured, like Noah and his act of faith and obedience;Ananias and Saphira; Apostle Peter; Judas; Micah; David; and many more.

This was a very short but inspirational book that gave me insights on the importance of living a righteous and balanced life in Christ. As a Christian, I am very pleased to have read this book because the lessons learned will last a lifetime. It was also an eye-opener on some issues I've been dealing with.

This book was professionally edited, and I found nothing to dislike about it. I will be glad to give it a perfect rating of 5 out of 5 stars.

I have been reading books with a spiritual content since the early 1970s. It has become a more important topic for me recently, as I have had medical issues to deal with and some limitations on what I can do physically. I was raised as a Christian and have tried to follow the 10 Commandments and the Golden Rule. After my 2 daughters finished high school and left home, I did not feel any strong need to go to church. I got tired of hearing sermons on the same topics each Sunday, based on the annual repeating schedule. Sometimes I would watch religious programs on tv, but quit doing that after Robert Schuller died. I did read 2 of his books and found them to be helpful.

I have found that reading books with a spiritual focus are helpful to my thinking about God and my daily life. That is why I was interested in this book. My life has been unbalanced several times with financial upheavals due to work and employment issues. The author talks about the need to learn how to be patient, as part of fining your balance. I have had to learn that lesson more than once, over the years. As he says in the book, God does not always respond to your needs and wishes on your timetable.

Nowadays, many people are impatient to "get ahead", get financial rewards, but if their life events do not work out exactly how they expect them to, that can cause major imbalance for such people. It is in those cases where a book like this one could be very helpful and important. You don't have to be a Bible scholar or regularly go to church, in order to benefit from the lessons offered in this book. So, maybe check it out, if you are srruggling or have questions.

A self-help book, this one discusses how to find harmony in your life. And believe me, leading a balanced life has advantages. The love of money has become a problem because of the society we live in today. I must congratulate the author for raising the subject of "The love of money and its consequences". Each person requires a copy of the Christian self-help book. Thansk for the amazing review.
