A Fast Diet Journey by Joseph Richard

Post by katiedid659 »

Joseph Richard is not a physician or a diet guru. He's an average guy writing a short book to convince the reader to try the method of weight loss that he is trying. He gives advice on how to follow the diet he is on and claims that it is a way to fast weight loss. He began his weight loss journey with the illness of one of his children, which led him to the realization that what they were eating was making them all sick. Without giving away the method that he is advocating, he also claims that it is spiritually and physically sound.

He does claim that this diet will give you more energy and make you feel better after you get past the side effects. Nor do you need to bother with exercise or calorie counting. The diet has several different variations and levels that a person can attempt, each one being more strict than the one before it. He also recommends a vegetarian diet following this diet. He covers extensively all the naysayers' objections to his methodology and declares it to be safe with the only caveat being that diabetics should get advice from a physician before trying this method.

It all sounds good. He makes the right noises. However, he offers no scientific data or proof of any sort to support his claims. In the beginning, he spoke of his child's illness being the catalyst for starting this diet, he did not say if the child was put on the diet as well. He also does not give proof of how much weight he has lost and states that he has not reached his ideal weight at the time of writing.

I would give this book one star and not recommend it. Giving advice that will affect a reader's health is a dangerous business being taken on by someone who by his own admission is only a layman with no expertise in the area of weight loss. Suggested retail price 0.99.
