The discussion is divided into two parts, covering the author's experiences dealing with her own children's learning challenges and her over two decades of experience as a special educator. This is a brilliant approach and shows the author's willingness to provide the readers with information that can actually help them. Again, Debra has done remarkably well in getting the readers to understand that these issues are not disabilities but challenges or weaknesses that can be fixed. I think this paradigm shift in mindset is a great way of helping parents and guardians stop feeling miserable and gain the strength to seek solutions.

In seeking solutions, the author emphasizes the importance of understanding the underlying factors causing a child to struggle academically. The author has provided relevant information to make this process as easy and effective as possible, ranging from the notes on the various forms of learning challenges to their signs, the available curative programs, and the need to consult professionals who will not only diagnose but also provide the solutions to the identified problems. Parents and guardians are provided with the difference between traditional tutoring and brain training, getting them well informed and making it easier for them to make effective choices.

The anecdotes and key takeaways were helpful, as was the author's provision of the programs she has used to not only fix her children's learning challenges but also those of other students she had appointments with. This is a well-edited work, with just a few grammatical errors. I have no complaints to report about this book, and I give it five out of five stars for the invaluable insights and practical guides on fixing learning challenges. If you truly want real answers to your child's learning challenges, I advise that you get a copy of Beyond Tutoring: A Guide for Parents Who Want REAL Answers to Their Child's Academic Struggles, written by Debra Gawrys. I have read this book and can confirm the answers are real and will make remarkable differences in your child's academic, social, and emotional lives.
