Responsible parents are naturally supposed to love and protect their dear children. Parenting determines how children will view and interact with the world eventually. However, times come when some parents do not perform their parental roles well resulting in serious consequences. The impact of poor parenting is vividly illustrated in this excellent book. My Inner Thoughts in Ink: Finding her soul is the first book in a series of 4. The series is written according to the four stages of growth of a butterfly, and hence book one is the egg stage. It was authored by AlairrialA. The book chronicles the personal encounters of the author since early childhood.

Life is truly what we make it. Years have passed since the author underwent harrowing experiences. She is standing in front of a mirror recounting many events that influenced her life. There are many things in her body reminding her of some specific moments in her life. She was a victim of a dysfunctional family. The harsh conditions at home made her feel like running away. Her mother told her she would never amount to anything. There were constant threats. She became a victim of sexual harassment at a young age. Her authoritarian parents could not believe her, and so she had no one to turn to. The school was another unpleasant place where even her friends bullied her. She turned to journaling amid these daunting challenges. She has written over ten thousand poems since childhood. Some of these poems have been included in this book.

This is a unique memoir. The author is very honest. She openly describes all that she went through. Her genuine acceptance of everything that happened cannot be ignored. The book recounts many spheres of her life like motherhood, health, and relationships. She admits her shortcomings as well. There was a time she was hopelessly addicted to illegal drugs. She was afraid of solitude. Her candidness is indeed striking.

What I liked most is that the author accepts all that happened in her life. She embraces every distinct moment that helped to mold her. This can be proved by her story and the poems she has written. The author states one can choose to either be bitter or better in life following any experience. The other thing I cherished was her eventual triumph. She quit drugs. She stopped tolerating toxic relationships. There was nothing I did not like in the book.

The book was well-written and professionally edited. The author was precise. She elaborately described her personal life experiences. The writing style was remarkable as well. I felt like I was being taken on a journey down the memory lane to observe what took place then. I soundly rate this book 4 out of 4 stars. I conscientiously recommend it to ardent fans of memoirs. It will appeal most to those who are struggling desperately with violent relationships, drug addiction or bitter memories from the past. The lesson is you can overcome every circumstance.

Wow! How interesting this Book is! Parenting would not be easy. Nowadays, you cannot depend on your knowledge alone. The things that we'd learn from our parents would not be enough. Reading the Bible can at least enlighten and guide you! Nothing to lose, try it!
