The author seems to have lived an eventful life. I especially appreciate that he is honest about his shortcomings in his writing. Honesty is hard, even more being honest with one's self.

I'm completely convinced after reading your review that I should read this book. Scott's tale of personal growth and salvation following a low point sounds both intensely compelling and incredibly uplifting. I appreciate your wonderful assessment. You have presented a very strong argument for why Trouble Ain't Nothing But a Word ought to be on everyone's reading list. I'm eager to go through it myself.
