The Best Vacation Ever! By Cash Peters

Post by d3i6amo7nds »

I learnt a lot and laughed a lot reading about the author's vacation with a group of friends on a cruise ship in Provence on the river Rhône. If,like me, you've never been on a cruise you'll feel like an old hand by the end of the book.
Not that a lot of time was spent on the ship, there was such a lot to see and do en route.
The towns and villages are colourfully described and the background information related with a wit and humour that makes it easily digestible, whether it be the history of Avignon, the story of Van Gogh at Arles or the fascinating connections of Les Baux De Provence.I felt that it gave a real flavour of the area.
It all sounds like a lot of fun, with the various wine tastings, olives too, which didn't go down so well with the author.
Back on board the ship the author meets some weird and wonderful characters and has a few unexpected experiences.
A great combination of facts and humour. I enjoyed this very much and recommend it highly, especially for someone interested in river cruising and the Provence area - also as a very engaging read.
