A schoolgirl lost her voice after an attack with a sore throat. Will she ever regain her voice? It's sad how some adults told her that she was evil and that God was punishing her by taking away her voice. Also, some people thought she was faking her illness. This book allows readers to understand what a young girl went through when she couldn't talk.

"Voiceless" by Marie McCreadie sounds like a deeply impactful and heartfelt memoir. The author’s experience of losing her voice and the subsequent challenges she faced offer a powerful look into how disability can affect every aspect of life, from personal identity to social interactions.

I don't mean to offend anyone, but unfortunately, I will have to pass this book, because the true recounting of "unique experiences living with a disability" isn't my preference in literature. Still, congratulations on BOTD!

The review's highlight of Marie's experiences with harsh treatment from those around her is both shocking and compelling. It’s this kind of honest storytelling that draws me to read Voiceless and learn more about her journey.

I am fascinated by the fact that the author lost her voice after going down with a sore throat. I am intrigued by how becoming literally voiceless affected her life.

The author's story is both inspiring and insightful; she must have gone through so many challenges after losing her voice and not being able to speak throughout her teenage years. I'm so glad she was able to get her voice back. Congrats on BOTD!

This is an absolutely emotional story. I can't believe a teenage girl would go through this kind of presumptuous maltreatment at the hands of people who are supposed to be beacons of light to others. It's sickening to hear, to say the least. I appreciate the author's honesty too.

Imagine permanently losing your voice. You wouldn't be able to join conversations spontaneously, sing, or greet others cheerfully. This sudden limitation would be significant. How would you cope with this challenge? McCreadie shares her story of how she managed to do so.
