“The Ranting of an Uneducated Reactionary” by Oscar Phillips is a book that will put many other political books to task. It’s an interesting and captivating appraisal of concepts such as communism, socialism, liberalism, conservatism, capitalism, and feminism, among others, and their modes of operation, including their effects on American culture. This book offers the reader a unique, mentally invigorating, and nonconformist approach to these concepts.

Phillips is a self-educated conservative who states that conservatism brings happiness, unity, combats poverty, and creates equal opportunities. The chapters in the book unravel as the author explicitly dishes out his thoughts and perspective on the different governmental structures.

I like that this book is highly educational and thought-provoking, and I learned a lot of things. It’s necessary to question those who question authority, as they too may later become the authority. Again, I learned that most politicians may not publicly criticise the domestic social spending programme, despite how corrupt they are, out of fear of retaliation. Get a copy of this book to read and learn more. I also learned about Obamacare and how it has affected America, including the difference between the Communist and Nazi salutes.

There was nothing I could possibly dislike about this book. I believe that although the author's thoughts and hot takes may spark controversy and not go down well with some people, we are all entitled to freedom of expression. I like how the author gave an insight into the different systems of government in America. I enjoyed reading through the chapters that contained the ‘opinionated bits and pieces’, which are a collection of the author’s random thoughts. However, I noticed many errors in the book. For this reason, I rate it 4 out of 5 stars.

This book is recommended to Americans and political students who would love to delve deep and gain insight into the various systems of American government.

What sets this book apart is its unique perspective offered by a self-educated conservative author. Phillips fearlessly delves into the nuances of conservatism, arguing that it fosters happiness, unity, combats poverty, and creates equal opportunities. His unapologetic stance challenges readers to reconsider preconceived notions and engage in critical discourse.
