Review of I'll Be There...
The synopsis of this book is what drew me to it. I'm a sucker for true stories and autobiographies, so I just knew I had to read this. Before getting into the bulk of my review, I'd like to provide my rating, which is 5 out of 5 stars.
The book is about Cindy, our author, and her incredible lifelong friendship with her childhood friend Deb. The book details their memorable childhood and teenage antics, the ups and downs of young adult life, and the joy of maintaining a friendship as wonderful as theirs.
The author's style of writing was warm, cozy, and homey. That may be an odd way to describe it, but I can think of no other way to describe it. It felt like speaking to a friend about their life over coffee. The jokes, detailed depiction of scenery, and natural flow and pace of the story made it that much more enjoyable. The book is also relatively short. It packs quite a punch, though. The roller coaster of emotions I went on with the author is remarkable. I felt for her story, her friendships, her family and family friends, her best friend Deb, and her brother Pete. Honestly, by the time the book was over, I felt like I was a part of the family and should move to Texas to be with everyone. It absolutely lived up to my expectations and, in some cases, surpassed them. The editing is also commendable; I found only two errors in the entire book, and they in no way hindered my reading experience.
The above reasons are why I rated the book the way I did. There isn't anything negative I have to say about the book. It was amazing. It told a beautiful story of friendship and that, though rare, good friends last a lifetime. No matter where you both go or how differently you both grow, true friends stick with you through it all. We would all be so lucky to find our Deb's. I honestly recommend this book to everyone, and especially to those who enjoy books about friendship, love, and faith.

The story is a beautiful tribute to the author's friendship with Debbie and their experiences growing up together.
