The catchy title, Europe on a G-String, grabbed my attention. I had heard of traveling on a shoestring and knew what that meant, but this title conjured up some different thoughts. The subtitle, for summer lovers everywhere, added to the intrigue. The cute cover with the three girls on a beach convinced me to try this book. Even though it falls into the non-fiction genre, it reads like a one-night-stand romance novel.

Three Australian women give up their boring jobs and travel to exotic locations for six months. While exploring life and looking for hookups, they experience many steamy, humorous, and scary adventures. L.A. Florrie's writing style is light and includes authentic conversations between the travelers and the men they meet. Although the sex scenes are descriptive and graphic, they are not overly numerous or erotic.

I like that I could relate to many of the situations. For instance, the girls had trouble finding the correct train in Skopje, Macedonia. I had the same issue trying to find a bus in Spain. Another time the girls were placed in a sketchy environment with a taxi driver. I was involved in a similar detour in Morocco. I also enjoyed the historical information the author included for every travel destination.

Despite the positives, the book has some negative aspects. It took me a while to understand that Lucy was the name of the narrator. The names of the three main protagonists were also a puzzle at first because some side characters were traveling with them. Also, the many flashbacks that provided background information were jolting and confusing. My main dislike, however, was the reckless sexual encounters. The author provided explicit details of the physical intimacies but did not describe any precautions taken for safe sex.

Because of the abovementioned negatives, my rating is four out of five stars. If you enjoy reading stories about attractive women going wild in Europe, you will enjoy this book by L.A. Florrie. I found no grammar errors, so I believe it has been professionally edited, which made the reading even more enjoyable for me.

It is quite intrepid to leave your day job and go on a vacation for six months. I enjoyed reading your review; regarding the negative aspects, I also dislike when the names and characters are not clear. Additionally the background stories were confusing. I believe a good character development in a book makes the story enjoyable.

It sounds like this book is engaging and relatable, especially with its mix of humor and adventure. The title cleverly plays on familiar phrases, while the narrative of three women exploring life resonates with many. The balance between descriptive scenes and authentic dialogue seems appealing for a light read. As a person who loves traveling, I'm interested to know what others do during their adventures. Hooking up with strangers is where I draw the line but I understand to some, that's exciting. I'll add this to my list. Thanks for this great review!

Yes, Lene Lena, I agree that these three are more adventurous than I am when I travel.

Seeing that this book is of the non-fiction genre, I think I will enjoy reading this book about "attractive women going wild in Europe". It is real and authentic, I would assume. I am still trying to fully understand women. They are complicated beings. So, I will add this one to my bookshelves.
