Essays on the History and Politics of the Internet by Jeffrey A. Hart was an informative and interesting read about exactly what the title states, the history and politics of the internet! Our lives have been changed significantly by this technology, and this book discusses many good and bad ways we’re affected by the internet. The author also touches on subjects such as the effect the internet has on the distribution of power, the many visions that were behind the building of the internet, and the factors responsible for the rapid growth of the internet. I rate this 5 out of 5.

Something I found enjoyable about Jeffrey A. Hart’s writing was how professional and well-informed it was. There were many resources listed to provide further context about the themes in the book, and the sources of information were cited properly and consistently. This was satisfying, not only because it’s professional but also because it made the information I was reading feel trustworthy and well thought out. There were also many visual aids used, which helped break up the text and make it more understandable. I felt like the author put a lot of thought and effort into this book, which I greatly appreciated as a reader.

I don’t have any criticisms about this book; it was impossible to find something I disliked, and for this reason, I gave it a perfect rating. The editing was incredible, the writing was professional, and the resources bring great credibility to this book. It wasn’t hard to understand or boring to read; it was brief yet informative and absolutely captivating. Reading this made me ponder about the hold the internet has on me and how this affects my life.

Overall, Essays on the History and Politics of the Internet by Jeffrey A. Hart was enjoyable, informative, and extremely professional. I’d recommend this book to anyone interested in the history or politics of the internet and the effect it’s having on us as a society. It’s eye-opening and thought-provoking!
