I wish I could see my favorite band 92 times...but my finances won't let me. I wish concert tickets were cheaper. Maybe not $20 each, but less than $200 for good seats would be nice. I only know a couple of people who might want to read this book.

I never thought to attend concerts with such dedication myself, and from this point of view, this book holds much interest for me, offering insight into an unknown lifestyle. I am not exactly approving the involvement of drugs, alcohol, and sex as integral parts of rock philosophy, but overall am intrigued by this kind of traveler's guide and gratefully accept the gift. Congratulations on BOTD!

Lyman writing his experience as a consistent concertgoer shows the dedication he had to this life. although he was a teacher, he found a way. it is impressive that his consistency enabled him to document such experience.

I love music, especially rock, so I'm sure I'll enjoy Just a Fan by John R. Lyman. It's incredible that the author has attended about 900 shows! This book will be great for fans of memoirs.

"Just a Fan" by John R. Lyman sounds really fun because it mixes music and real-life teacher struggles, and I like how the author shares everything honestly and with humor.

I Loved your review of Just a Fan! 😊
It’s cool how you related to the author as a fellow teacher—and wow, 900 concerts?! That’s wild. The part about organizing chapters by band sounds different but fun once you get into it. Totally agree that clear pics and cleaner punctuation would’ve made it even better.

That "1984-1985 " chapter sounds like a great mix of personal and concert vibes. Thanks for sharing such a real and helpful review! 🎸📚

Congratulations on BOTD.
As a lover of music and concerts, being in 900 concerts, I doubt if I will vividly remember the dates let alone the details. "Just a Fan" by John R. Lyman will be an interesting read.

It's just amazing and mind blowing on how much fun the author had during the time. From concert to concert such an adventure few get to have in a life time. Though I haven't read the whole book am thrilled by just the review and am sure the book is a masterclass as well. Its a good review indeed.

This memoir narrates the author's experience as a rock aficionado and an avid concert goer. His musical pursuits began at the age of 14 and continued throughout his adult life. The author attended more than 900 concerts in various locations, and the travel experiences are memorable.

"Just a Fan" by John R. Lyman is a musical memoir about a man that was quite a musical concert fan. The author John R. Lyman has attended more than 900 concerts and the ticket stubs on the cover of the book are an example of many concerts. The detail provided in the book was so descriptive that I could imagine myself being there. I also love going to concerts but I have probably only been to 100 concerts and I can remember details from most of them. The author was into punk music, since I am 14 years younger, I was into rock music like The Who, Chicago, The Rolling Stones, REO Speedwagon, Crosby, Stills and Nash, Bruce Springsteen, The Moody Blues and many other groups like them. I have seen Bruce 9 times, The Rolling Stones 4 times, The Who 3 times, Chicago 5 times and The Moody Blues 8 times. I am 72 now and my wife and I still go to concerts and we also have attended tribute band concerts. I experienced a similar concert like Lyman where people around me were smoking weed in a water pipe and most of the people in the seats around them got high. I enjoyed the sample and I look forward to reading the remainder of the book since it will bring back many great memories. This is a well-written book that readers will enjoy.

I'm intrigued by the life of a concertgoer and how the author managed to make a living from it. I love music and autobiographies, and though the rock genre is not my preference, I will give this book a chance. Thank you for the review.

The author must really love concerts to have attended so many and have records of them. I think part of the fun is the travelling and the accompanying adventures with the lifestyle.

It sounds like the author had so much fun doing what he loves and didn't miss any chance to enjoy some rock and roll (over 900 concerts!). This should be a fun, insightful read indeed. Thanks for the review!
