“Becoming a Man of God—the Journey” by Terry A. Richards II is what I would call an outstanding Christian book. It’s like something I’ve never seen before. I was engaged from beginning to end and even wanted more.

Like the title of the book says, this book is an intensive and captivating guideline on how to be a man of God or, more like, a human of God from the experiences of the author because it’s not only for men. This book touches topics like masculinity and Godliness, our connection to God due to being made in His image and likeness, the Holy Spirit, how we are called to the service of God, prayer life, worship, perfectionism in Christ, loving yourself/loving your neighbour, forgiveness, discipline, trust in God, being authentic in Christ, and so much more. This book also subconsciously brings you closer to the Bible because of the number of scripture passages quoted in this book. It also helps you evaluate all aspects of your Christian life.

What I loved most about this book was the author's approach. Unlike most Christian books, which are all centred around the word of God directly and can get boring, he knew his audience and knew that he had to find a way to get us engaged, and that's where the storytelling came in. Before every lesson, there is a real-life story that is somehow related to the lesson of that chapter. At one point, I wished he had continued his life story because I found it fun, and this made it easier to get the message he was trying to pass on. I also love that after each chapter, there are Bible passages to study, and there are questions to evaluate yourself and see if you are on the right path or need some improvement.

I rate this book a 5 out of 5 stars because it was well-edited, the author's approach to passing his message across was top-notch, and the evaluatory exercises at the end of each chapter make sure you are following his message. This is definitely one of the best books I’ve read this year.

I recommend this book to all Christians because it teaches a lot about Christianity and does it in a fun way that you would definitely enjoy.

I would definitely be interested in learning more about perfectionism in Christ and how the author addresses the topic. I am glad the book entails the need to love oneself and also loving one's neighbor. Thank you for the well-balanced review, @Neto Onuoha.

Your review makes this sound like more than just a book—it feels like a real guide for growth. I like that it’s not just for men but for anyone looking to strengthen their walk with God. Would you say it's suitable for a group study setting too?
