Goal Setting Success: Creating the Goals And Habits to Live the Life You Deserve Today by Brian Chase is an interesting book about goal setting. This book explains how to set goals and why it is important to do so.

When I started reading this book, I wondered how much could be said about goal setting in just 17 pages, but Chase manages to outline the process quite effectively. He starts by explaining that goals are the "finish lines" in life. Without something to aim for, we won't know when we have reached it. The next chapter talks about the power of visualization, the ability to see what life will be like when we have accomplished our goals. Chase goes on to explain the steps for creating and reaching our goals. He finishes the book with how to deal with obstacles and the importance of motivation.

As I read this book, I often felt that this book was not written for someone like me, a stay at home, homeschooling mom. While I have a lot of goals in my life and a lot of goals that need to be set, none of them look like the examples in the book. Examples of saving money to buy an expensive car, or trying to make more sales as a sales person are not examples that relate to my life at all. Even so, I did find myself finding a place to write down my own goals as I began to follow the steps that Chase outlines. I think that there will be new things happening in my life because of this book.

I really liked the step by step portion of the book. It inspired me to set some new goals and to think about them in new ways. While most of the information in this book was review for me, there were a couple of new ideas in this section. Things that I will use as I continue to set goals in my life.

I would recommend this book to someone who is just learning about goal setting. This book would be a great introduction, and with the Amazon price of just $0.99 it is a deal. There were quite a few grammar mistakes in the book that slowed me down as I read, but because I learned something new that I will continue to use I rate this book 3 out of 4 stars.

Great review! I think it's good to keep reminding ourselves to do these things. But I find it interesting that there are 'quite a few' grammar mistakes which are so distracting they slowed down your reading.

It seems like the author is sending an alarming message I cannot agree with: "Hey everyone! Here's how to get your work done without caring about how well you do it!"

You are right, it is kind of funny to write a book about goal setting and then not take the time to finish the job by properly editing the book.

Sounds like a good book. I may just pick it up. About the grammar errors...haven't you noticed the high incidence of this problem and also incorrect words is escalating with the advent of self publishing? Something to be said for the old fashioned way to publish a book.
