Review : True love by Jennifer Lopez

Post by Phillymom80 »

First let me say that yes I am a Jennifer Lopez fan, but that did not in anyway influence my feelings about the book.

Really the whole reason why I wanted to read the book was because I heard so good and also bad things about it and I wanted to see what the hype was about. In the beginning she states that if the person reading the book was looking for gossip or dirt on people she mentions in the book that it was a waste of time to continue cause that's not what the book was about..

Basically she talks about her journey into becoming a mother and how it changed her as a person and realizing that there were certain things in her life that needed to change. With that being said her first realization was her unhappiness in her marriage and how hard she was trying to make it work withou being true to herself or her kids. Sh discusses the journey that she took and is still taking to be able to be ok with herself and make the right choices for her and her family.

After reading her book I realized that wow she really opened up and let the world see that what we hear and read in the media isn't always true.. Basically she is saying this is me, this is what I am going threw, I am human, I have fear and pain, but it's ok to love yourself despite all that. Being perfect isn't the most important.
I'm glad I got to read and share in her self discovery.

I definitly recommend the book because it actually made me take a step back and think about some issues that I have dealt with in this past year and realized that it's ok to make mistakes because that's how you learn and grow.
