Get Up! Why Your Chair is Killing You James A Levine

Post by mwatt »

Definitely an inspirational and informative read about why we are just not designed to be a sedentary people- always searching for the next chair to take a seat. The author shares from his many years of research into the effects of sitting on our physical and mental health as well as the effects on our culture and society as a whole. He presents many personal stories, lots of fascinating facts and so many research findings that could be a bit overwhelming at times. But, this book has definitely encouraged me to get up and increase the number daily minutes I spend standing or walking, instead of sitting- especially immediately following meal times.
