Review: Where is God When it Hurts by Philip Yancey

Post by LadyS »

In “Where is God When it Hurts” by Philip Yancey, the book informs the reader on human suffering and how it affects people. There is five parts: Why is there such thing as pain?, Is pain a message from God?, How people respond to suffering?, How can we cope with pain?, and How does faith help?. Majority of the book is stories of suffering. In chapter one, Yancey began with Claudia story of having cancer after months of getting married. And then mentions other stories throughout the whole book. The author’s picture of God really is not mentioned in the book because the book is more information, and relating to the reader on a personal level through real life stories.
