Many ICT professionals are intelligent in their work. Adding people skills to their arsenal would give them a competitive advantage in their work. On this theory, I tend to agree with the author.

The topic is very interesting so I’m looking forward to digging into this book to be informed and enlightened about the world of technology and cyber security as The Espinosa discusses a training called Secure Methodology to help fight what he considers to be the root cause of cyber insecurity. This is relevant and timely.

Cyber attacks on personal data is concerning. It leaves every person vulnerable and I can accept that coders let their ego get in the way when providing cybersecurity. Great review!

'Official Review: The Smartest Person in the Room' by Christian Espinosa serves as a solid foundation for readers to read the book about protection from cyberattacks. It is a thorough analysis of the book for prospective readers. The point that the author has developed a training called Secure Methodology to help fight what he considers the root cause of cyber insecurity is worth mentioning in the review. Also, the point that he proposes seven steps in the Secure Methodology techniques to guide both employers and employees to communicate properly, have empathy, pursue improvement, and win the war against cyber thieves, as mentioned in the review, is remarkable for readers. It was great to learn that at the end of every chapter, the author included exercises that readers can do to test their understanding!

It took me quite a few pages before I really got the authors rhythm down, after that I found some fun engaging ah-ha moments and some nodding where I felt I shared similarities with the authors point of view. I enjoyed his moment of truth where he felt someone had to change for things to improve. Understanding the psychology of how we get stuck in that rut, where we might not be happy with everything we’ve achieved even though outward appearance says we should be happy but knowing inside there’s more out there is truly pivotal.

Thanks for the honest review. Although I am retired and not in the workforce anymore, this book did stir my interest. I will put it on my list of books to consider reading.

"The Smartest Person in the Room" by Christian Espinosa is a book for people in the technology and cybersecurity industry. The book focuses on the teaching of people skills. Empathy is a very important skill and believing that one is the smartest person in the room could be a leader's downfall. Cybersecurity leaders need to understand people in order to identify cybersecurity threats. This book should be read by non-tech adults and they will learn new skills, like how not to be blinded by one's ego. A well written book and a good review. I have already added this book to my To-Read shelf.

While a book about cybersecurity and technology seems relevant in today's world, it doesn't apply to me, so I think I will skip it. For people in the industry, it sounds like an informative read. Thanks for the informative review.

The smartest person in the room sounds like a great self-help book that teaches people to develop interpersonal skills in an effort to reduce cyber insecurity. This sounds like a book that would be mostly benefiting to those in the IT department.
