I admire the author for having the courage to write this. It would've hurt to relive those memories. Great review.

As someone who has become a caregiver, I can relate to the author's pain of having to watch someone struggle until time for them to pass on. He is raw and honest about his questioning of God's plan and his family memories. I look forward to reading this memoir. Thanks for the amazing review!

The reason for the author to write this book is beautiful. However, I personally would not want to read this book as I find the topic too sad.

I already feel sad just from reading this book's summary, imagining the author's grief. I don't read memoirs as often as I would like, but one with a variety of authentic emotions ranging from humor to sadness and everything in between is one that I enjoy. This sounds like one, so I'm adding it to my need-to-read book list. Thanks for the review.

This book is touchy and needs a lot of emotions. I had tear droplets after reading the summary you made. I also loved that there was the comic relief in the book. Congratulations on BOTD!

I don't really like memoirs or biographies so I won't be reading this. I can appreciate the author's pain, however, and understand his need for his granddaughter to know her mother.

I love to read this book. Although sorrow can be seen in the book but lessons can be learnt from the grief of the author. Thanks for the review.

In the midst of loss and sadness, there is joy, hope, and peace. I hope Abigail gets to know her mother and grandmother through her grandfather's loving words. Great review!

A story of love, loss and religious belief. I felt this review deep in my soul, having felt an intense grief at the death of my own father. Loosing a wife then a daughter must have been heart-breaking for the author. I imagine he must have poured all of his love into writing this letter for his grand-daughter, Abigail, who was only two when her mum died, so she knows about her mum and her mum's side of the family

Tragic events in life can indeed shake one's faith in God, it takes a strong heart to bounce back from such blow. I am adding this book to my shelf because I really want to find out the content of the letter that was addressed to Abigail.

'Official Review: Dear Abigail,' by Richard Rees has a clear introduction. The reviewer's opinion on the book about the author's letter to his granddaughter leaves a fair impression about the author's work on the minds of the readers. I appreciate the way the reviewer relates the book to larger issues. Also, the point that the element of humor in the biography is interwoven with grief, as mentioned in the review, is remarkable for readers. I find the review positive and informative!

I think it would have been better for Abigail to keep close to her grandfather. We can make the compensation.
