This is not a book you would expect to come across every day, and today it has come to my attention through Jonathan Robinson. This is a bold approach, given that the drug MDMA (3,4-methylenedioxymethamphetamine) is considered illegal; many of us know it as Molly. This book is an incredible guide for readers who have no prior knowledge of psychedelics and serves as a convincing argument for how certain drugs can help address psychological issues when taken appropriately. Huge congrats on Book of the Day!

It's clear that a dysfunctional home breeds psychological distress and pain for the children of such a home. This is such an eye-opening book written from the author's experience on how to alleviate such pain using ecstasy (MDMA). Thanks for the review.

It´s true that MDMA is a form of treatment, although I barely know about it. So I found this topic very interesting to read. I will surely take a look on it. Good review!

I had always thought of ecstasy as a date rape drug, so I was surprised to learn that it is also effective treating depression, anxiety and PTSD. The author's credentials, including 40 years of experience with the drug, gives you confidence that his directive single sessions are more effective than the multiple passive sessions using MAPS protocol. Great review! It gave more clarity to the sample I read.

I find this book intriguing because ecstasy is frowned upon in the medical field and can only be used in very isolated cases under prescription due to its highly addictive nature and side effects. It’s unconventional that the author decided to educate the public on this, and I do not look forward to reading this with excitement but rather curiosity. Thank you for the detailed review and congratulations to the author for being selected BOTD.

This review of Ecstasy as Medicine offers a compelling look into the transformative potential of MDMA-assisted therapy. It's insightful to learn that Jonathan Robinson, drawing on over 40 years of expertise, has structured this book not only to address trauma and psychological issues like PTSD, anxiety, and depression but also to emphasize personal growth and connection. I appreciate that the reviewer highlighted how Robinson’s approach goes beyond the standard MAPS protocol, incorporating practical strategies and client testimonials that enhance the book’s authenticity and effectiveness. The breakdown into three parts with summaries at the start of each is also a great feature, making it accessible for readers new to psychedelics. The mention of Robinson's disclaimer is reassuring, as it shows his respect for readers’ diverse perspectives on psychedelics. This book sounds like a comprehensive, well-structured guide for both those curious about MDMA's potential and professionals in the field.

The review gave another perspective to the book. The book discusses a controversial topic, as psychedelics between its pros and cons, I think its disadvantages are greater. Therefore, the book is not suitable for me. But it will be an interesting topic of discussion for many. Congrats on BOTD

I would have appreciated an explanation into what MDMA means in full, perhaps to complement the discussion. Otherwise, your review summarised the contents of the book well. Thank you.

It’s a good book. Congratulations on being BOTD.

From the review ,the book talks about the importance of ecstasy in medicine ,It talks about MDMA drug which may be illegal but if used in right dosage may help with anxiety and PTSD. I just feel like it's a guide to those who want to know about psychedelics .

Hi @todwyer01, I just read your comments on the official review of "Ecstasy as Medicine" and I agree with you about not doing psychedelics, but I think the 40 years of experience in treating patients needs another look. I think the fact that MDMAs can help married couples in marriage counseling and helping people open up to their feelings has a lot of merit. @Mrlefty0706

After reading this review for "Ecstacy as Medicine," I get the impression that MDMA's role in alleviating depression, anxiety, and other psychological issues appears to have been underrated all along.
