“American Papers: My Love Letters to America” by Jayme Alencar de Oliveira Filho is a story about a woman that was not born in America but has fallen in love with the American Dream and what America has represented to people around the world. The sample was very brief so I have to base my comments on the official review. What has happened to America in the past few years since the 2016 election, the pandemic, the lack of bipartisanship in the House of Representatives and the Senate, the Ukraine/Russia war, the Israel/Hamas war and the hate speech, conspiracy theories and divisiveness promulgated by Trump has damaged our worldly image and more importantly it has affected all Americans. It pains me to see so many Americans have forgotten how our country was founded and what it has taken to protect it over the past 248 years. Young Americans are very disillusioned, and they could make the wrong decision in the voting booth in November, and we could end up with a dictator that will take away woman’s rights and undoubtedly men’s rights as well. I have not given up on America and I pray that it will return to our glory days or become even be better than it was when I was growing up in the 1950s. I am adding this book to my to-read shelf and I highly recommend it to young and old so that readers can learn or remember how great our country was and can be again. True patriotism needs to be re-kindled, not the lies that politicians tell while they call themselves patriots.

From the book review, it seems like the author is concerned with the wellness of the Americans and is calling for the reshaping of the American history. But where did the American lose their track? Will they be able to redeem themselves and become great again? I would love to hear the author's perspective on this, plus, I would love to read the "American Poems" incorporated in the book. Congratulations on being the BOTD.

One thing I really appreciate about your review is how you thoughtfully connect the themes of the book to the current challenges we face as a society. You make it not just a reflection on history, but also a call to action for readers to reignite their commitment to American values and ideals. Great job!

The book focuses on the existential conflicts and the weakening conscious power of the American government. The reviewer soberly addressed issues and expressed concern about the nation's diminishing global prominence. Restoring American spirits and ideals, restoring its intended position in the world, and achieving prosperity are all major concerns and worries of the author. This book gives the reader a wealth of information while covering wide-ranging topics. I became genuinely interested in it.

This is a book that should be grabbed by many, as it addresses the serious issues of today: the rampant decline and loss of the American consciousness that built the country over the years. Jayme Alencar presents this perfectly, and it’s a book that everyone, especially Americans, must read. Congratulations on being Book of the Day! It's about time. Excellent review, by the way!

The author's aim is to reignite patriotism in Americans. Jayme reminds everyone of how America and its people tackled issues in the past and solidified its strong position among all countries. Readers can learn or remind themselves of the sacrifices of the Continental Army and the contributions of Thomas Jefferson.

In your review of *American Papers: My Love Letters to America*, you captured the essence of the book's aim to reignite the American spirit and remind us of the ideals that have shaped the nation. It's fascinating how the author, Jayme Alencar de Oliveira Filho, uses historical references like Thomas Jefferson, the Continental Army, and Francis Scott Key to inspire readers. Your mention of how the book empowers readers to reclaim American values of justice, fairness, and patriotism resonates deeply, especially in today's divisive climate. I also appreciate how you highlight the relevance of this book to not just Americans but people from other nations as well, offering a broader perspective on shared struggles and triumphs. The inclusion of poems and historical reflections seems like a unique way to engage readers emotionally. Overall, your review has piqued my interest in this book.

Like every nation of the world, America has her fair share of internal issues. While these issues can be disastrous, they also form the rubric on which the country assess its progress. This is a book for every American.

Terribly sorry to say, that I was unable to understand the purpose of this book. It is clear that the author is proud to be an American and in great history it entails. But couldn't this apply to any other nation? Are all others any less proud of their own history and traditions, values and ideals? Apologies, but the book sounds too much like bragging to entice me into reading it.

One of the foremost countries in the world, known for its expertise and built on a solid foundation that provides value to its citizens. The labor of past and present heroes has uplifted the country and instilled a sense of pride in its citizens that is impressive to behold. However, as the review suggests, it’s fast becoming a thing of past glory, and if care isn’t taken, the country may return to the days they struggled to gain liberation from. Recently, I’ve followed the news and listened to debates from the presidential candidates, and I haven’t been swayed by their arguments. It seems to me that the dream of the liberators is on the verge of collapse. I appreciate that the author has put together such a valuable book with great insights to serve as a wake-up call to all Americans. Thank you for the insightful review. Congratulations to the author on being selected as BOTD.
