This is quite a difficult subject to stomach but I sincerely admire the author for having the courage to put all her experiences in a book. Also, it is admirable that she does everything she can to help other rape victims. Thank you for the review!

To write a book about rape by a rape victim is a very brave thing to do. I admire the author for doing this; it will help each one to understand and learn empathy to make the world a much better place to live in. Congrats!

Thank you for this review of a book which deals with a troubling and sensitive topic. It seems that this author has hit on a formula for presenting this subject in a clear and factual way, without minimizing the horror of the crime either.
Still, it isn’t the sort of book I’d like to read for pleasure, so will probably give this a miss. Great review.

"The author has moved on with her life very well, but we can also see that the events of that tragic autumn night will stay with her forever."

Most unhappy experiences affect us this way. Nonetheless, I am glad that Kristine has found healing, a supportive partner, and a way to help others avoid rape or cope with it if it happens. Hope is something we all need to keep building in this imperfect world we live in.

The events of sexual assault are vastly traumatic, effecting the survivor and those that support the victim. Unfortunately, many individuals have experienced similar traumatic events and thus they will continue to require understanding and support in the future. Through supplying support system with possible tools to assist survivors through the process of healing, it assists the friends and family in helping effectively and gives victims therapeutic devices.

What a heartbreaking and traumatizing event, but I'm glad the author has no memory of the rape itself. I hope that memory never returns. Kristine is brave for sharing her story and should be commended on her efforts on behalf of sexual assault victims. Great review.

This is touching and it is true that sometimes people don’t really notice that close friends and family members are also affected so it was a nice touch. I am just glad it has a happy ending. Great review!

This is one unique book I have to read. To have the author include recollections of friends and family in the events leading up to what happened, renders an insight that is often overlooked. Her support system after the rape is able to aid in her moving forward and recovery. Heartbreaking but informative memoir.

Wow! I have never heard from the point of view of the family and friends. Victims don’t tend to talk about it either. I have talked to some victims, but they say it in passing and never elaborate. They move on quickly to their everyday life, avoiding how it affected them. Thank you for this book, it is something I am interested in seeing how they feel.

It's very brave of the author to speak about her experiences with sexual assault, and far more impactful for her to grow in spite of the trauma.Very inspirational!

This book tells what happened to a rape victim, as well as her family and friends. This book is unique in that it looks at the crime from all of these points of view. Congratulations to the author for being chosen as BOTD. Thanks to the reviewer for your excellent review.

Good review. I read a sample and thought it was too heavy for me. Glad to hear she didn't delve into the act of the rape itself. I like how you touched on a bit of the advocacy she is involved in. Thanks again for the review.
