I find this review to be insightful. Many people claim to have seen aliens but their proof is little more then unconvincing. From the sounds of it the reviewer has a good head on their shoulders.

Ha ha! Just loved the way you ended off this delightful review. Thank you for your comments. I would normally be intrigued by a book of this type, had it been better presented, but somehow feel that this one falls somewhat short. I’ll probably give it a miss, but really liked hearing your opinion.

Definitely, a fun book to read! I would read this just to get the author's perspective.

The pictures made me curious! But I don't think it's gonna make me read the book just because of that. I'm thinking that maybe he exaggerated some parts of his story.

I admire this reviewers candid assessment of the supposed non fiction genre of the book. I also think it’s great that she found it all rather unbelievable and yet she still enjoyed the read. Personally, although I’m not completely closed to the idea that there may be other life forms out there, I’m very skeptical of people’s claims to encounters with aliens. I think I’ll give this book a miss.

Thank you for this thorough review! Now, my first impression was "This is a kids' book" because of the cover. However, as I started to read the review, it surprised me. I'm truly fond of alien stories and tales. I did not expect it to be a true story and in my perspective, that just makes it cooler. I'll read it before giving an honest opinion, I already downloaded it!

I wouldn't call this book non-fiction, because in my opinion it's genre is more along the lines of middle grade. Or maybe it is just me, who doesn't have one grown up person in my circle of acquaintances which is still interested in those subjects.

I was really surprised to find out this wasn't a children's book. On reading your review I can see its completely different from my first observations. This is a great review and I like how you've given a good plot outline whilst also highlighting the most positive and negative elements.

I can tell that you found the book somewhat amusing and I am glad you included that in your review, which is awesome as always! I think I'll have to pass on this one though, seems like we would know with clear definitive proof by now whether there are aliens or not. I can't wrap my mind around the idea that there is other life in the universe and we haven't had open communication with them. As an added note I too thought this was a children's book at first glance.

It's fascinating how different everyone is and what piques their interest. Dedicating time to see if there are aliens out there isn't something that I would do, but it's great this author explores just that. Too bad the pictures were not clear and even very pixelated; that must have made it a bit frustrating to read since this is one of the major selling points of this book. However, it's great to hear that you were still captivated by the story the author told and that your doubts didn't take away from enjoying this book. Good to hear the book is edited well. I don't think this is for me as I don't enjoy "first-hand extraterrestrial accounts", but I'm sure there are others that do. Thanks for sharing!

I've already started reading the book (I'm on page 250! LOL) and I agree about the pictures being muddy. Try as I might, I've only been able to pick out one "alien" in any of them. I did see what he meant about the picture that appeared to be a tunnel though. That's what it looked like to me as well. Like you, I haven't decided whether he's for real or not but either way the narrative is an enjoyable one and, as you said, the author's excitement is palpable. It's hard not to be excited with him! Thanks for the 'stellar' review!! :lol2:

I like your review especially the references to E.T. which is one of my favorite movies. I am always fascinated by things that are unexplained and people who have encountered the unknown. I think that anytime someone is talking about aliens the evidence can be hard to examine such as the blurry photos. I find it hard to believe that we are the only living things in the universe, but I would not venture to say that aliens exist.

Taverner's story is fascinating and I recommend it for anyone interested in life's mysteries. That being said, I stared at the pictures he captured and I didn't see anything like he described. If all of this is true then he's ahead of the curve, in that aliens have made contact with him. But mostly I suspended my disbelief and enjoyed the ride.

I certainly wouldn't mind reading this to my kid once she's old enough. I may be jaded with the eyes of an adult, but that's not reason for her to lose her sense of wonder.

I give this a 3 out of 4! Enjoy!
