I love when a book is powerful enough to evoke so much emotion!
There is no frigate like a book
To take us lands away,
Nor any coursers like a page
Of prancing poetry.
This traverse may the poorest take
Without oppress of toll;
How frugal is the chariot
That bears a human soul!

Thanks for your review. It sounds like you were truly invested in this memoir. It is wonderful to read that, even though her childhood was terrible, she had a wonderful relationship with her son.

From a sampling, this seems like an interesting memoir starting with the author's sad and emotional upbringing and leading to her journey to creating her empire. It might be worth a second look. Well done.

The introduction alone was compelling; I'm glad to hear it becomes even more immersive throughout. The black and white photos are a lovely and personal addition. I've been more and more interested in memoirs lately, so I'll add this to my library! Thanks for the recommendation and glowing review.

It is but a compelling story, it's not every day when you find a lady ready to overcome all the life challenges but we see Lina determined to make her own millions and stand out in the harsh environment of life

I really like how your review effortlessly paints the strength of Lina and how she was able to overcome obstacles that could be considered roadblocks for many. The #BOTD is definitely on my want to read shelf due to the memoir being uplifting.

This sounds like a truly inspirational read. Courage, determination, and faith taking precedence over childhood abuse which gives hope for others who are experiencing trauma or have experienced trauma. Great review!

This memoir is a compelling piece of work. The complexity of human nature is highlighted through various characters, and the beautiful relationship that Lina has with her son brought tears to my eyes. Every child deserves to be loved the way she loved him. She protected him, understood him, and sincerity radiates from this pure mother-son relationship. She lived a driven and fast-paced life, but still with a very strong mindset in the reality that she had a child to care and provide for.
I find this especially commendable because many successful business people overlook that there are other important aspects in life besides career development. I'm glad she cared for her son so much. It seems like a truly inspiring memoir. Thank you so much for your enthusiastic review!

There is a hero in everyone who is ready to take one through the storms. Lina listened and she was glad she did. The writer clearly encourages parent to give their children the love they deserve. It is a book intentionally written to heal and inform. Great review! Thanks a lot for sharing.
