This sounds like a beautifully written tribute to the author's late son, but I believe I will pass on this one as it just sounds too emotional for me. Excellent review!

Such an emotional memoir. It's a pity the boy died. Thank you for your review.

Even though I won't read this book because it's non-fiction, I applaud the author for telling David's story.

I can only imagine how hard addiction was for the author and her family. Addiction is detrimental to many; it is not limited to the one who has become addicted. Kudos to the author for sharing her struggles with her son. :)

The most painful book I have ever read! It is terrible to be a mother who just cannot help her child stop using drugs...I really don't know how one can recover after such a tragedy! The review shows that it is not only I who sees the writer as a very strong and courageous woman.

Wow this is going to be a powerful book, how do any families get through this, it's hard on everyone. As a mother of 3 grown up sons I feel so lucky that they have never gone down this path but as a mother I also feel desperately sad for the writer and so brave of her to share her story. Having read the sample I am not sure I am strong enough to read the rest of the book. Heart breaking !!

Indeed substance abuse does not only affect the person involved in it, it also affects the relatives related to the abuser. I feel empathy for what Patricia went through, I hope she gets the closure she seeks. This is a heart-touching story that will evoke different emotions in readers. Great review!

Seeing your love one going through the road of destruction without wanting to yield to correction is something that wouldn't be forgotten easily. I wish Patricia and her family the strength to accept what has happened and that young people, and parents will learn one or two morals in this story.

Sounds like a well-delivered memoir, and I say well delivered because I was able to relate with the author's view on the situation. This is a nice review.

This is an excellent book that offers an insight into the life of an addict. How that addiction affects those close to the addicted person is also explored. The book shares real experiences which makes it relatable. I hope everyone who reads this book learns something.

The biographical type of non-fiction is most definitely not my preferred cup of tea, in major part due to the simple fact that usually it is a story of some tragedy which has shaped the life and build the character of the author. I am really not one to enjoy it and prefer to avoid altogether.
