It's great to be able to trace your family history and roots; it'll be very helpful for Neil when he gets older and even for the younger generation. However, I don't read nonfiction, so I'll pass on this book.

The book is a documentation of the author's life and that if his family. I wonder where the title came from. I am looking forward to reading this book to find out. Congratulations to the author on winning book of the day.

A real life story revolving around Neil's childhood experiences. Sounds unique and memorable. I'm glad Neil's dad was a part of this project, and I hope the publishing of this book fulfilled Neil's agenda. I will read the book. Congratulations on being the BOTD.

It's so nice that the father and son could work on this book together, as I'm sure it was a rather special time spend for them both. This however is not something that I would read. Thanks for a great review. Congrats on BOTD.

I am attracted to read this book by Harold's obvious sincerity, which will guarantee me exposure to authentic information about Harold's family. Thanks for the review.

Harold was born in 1911, which means he lived through both world wars and many other historical events. It must be fascinating for his son and future generations to read about their ancestors, who lived in very different times. The pictures of objects and technology in those days compared with modern versions should be very interesting. Thank you for your informative review.

This is not really the genre of books I enjoy reading, however, it seems the reader enjoyed it and it would definitely be enjoyed by other readers who enjoy family centered biographies and it must have been something wonderful for the original authors son to tap into his dad's creative shoes!

Wonderful review! And what a beautiful idea for a book! Something that can track back our lineage and will be a treasure for the future generations as well. We have unlimited spaces to store/save everything electronically but how much of it would actually survive 1000 years later?! Boggles my mind, but this book is something that gives hope that it will stay throughout generations!!

Thank you for the great review of the family history, "I Have Calluses on My Hands" by Neil Henry.
The story was told and written by the patriarch of the family and revised and edited by the son.
it is a realistic picture of a family and their look back on their lineage.

It has to be such an amazing process for a son to go through the journey of his father's life. The matter is even more special that Neil's father is alive and able to verbalize the moments he remembers so vividly during the early 1900s. I cannot wait to get my hands on the heartwarming read.

Unfortunately, the book is most definitely not my cup of tea, because I have no interest in non-fiction as a genre and biographies in particular, since as a quite private person myself, I consider such insight in Harold Henry's life a bit voyeuristic. Congrats with BOTD, anyway!

Going through the family history can be more inspiring as you know you have the same genes. An excellent idea by Neil Henry as he visualized he would be old so why not record the life in words. Biographies are captivating when they are toned with sincerity. Congratulations! #BOTD.
