I admire honesty and courageous self-disclosure in memoir, but I'm a little apprehensive about the reported brutality of some of the disclosures. The sample will hopefully shed a little more light on the matter.

I gather that this provides a warts and all picture of what masculinity means. That's an interesting idea, but I'm certainly put off by the lack of political correctness. Thanks for the well-written review.

In my opinion this is a very important subject, so it affects to all of us. The inner fight between serving and do the right thing and your emotions and personal growth is always present, even more in a young person. What does it take to be a man? Is "the" question. I'm personally very interested in history and military so I'm sure I would enjoy so much this book. Congrats and thank you for a different novel today.

I agree with most that generally, this book will do a lot of good to men. However, I will prescribe it for every woman who has a man in her life as well!!. Thanks for the review Natalie.

#Am I a Man Yet? by Mark Butler
I love the title, which brings to the open ended question whether one is already a man or not.
This makes it attractive for one to get the whole story.

I am not a fan of stories with brutal experiences, but this seems intriguing. However, its a good thing that great achievements comes out of them.
Thumbs up for the great review!
