Great review of this heartrending story. I don't think 3 out of 4 in any way reflects on the story or its reason for being written. Anyone going through a similar situation would find the detail in it helpful. I feel the author was more keen to get the book out there at the minimum of expense, than being concerned about professional editing. 4 out of 4 for the great review. Great his book was selected for BOTD. I don't think any negative comments about this book in the review will detract from it's message and the love that went into making it available for others to read.

It is just so painful to know that kids can have cancer. Their surviving it is, thus, a wondrous victory. I pray for more miracles for Louis and his family. What brave and loving souls!

Taking care of a person suffering from cancer can be overwhelming work, but Mark must have given the best to his son Louis until he beat the cancer. Your review was incredible.

"First Survivor is a gripping, inspiring, and heart-wrenching story of one family's journey through the darkest of storms. It is a testimony to the power of love, faith, and perseverance. First Survivor gives hope to any parent facing a life-threatening illness in their child, and serves as a reminder that miracles can happen

It's often said where there's life there's hope
And to hear of this 3 year old survival of cancer is hearkening

This is an inspiring story. A three-year-old has to suffer intense pain, suffering, and even a lot of treatment plans. The journal of Mark is a very valuable thing, it will be able to give a detailed description of how they went through the period.

This memoir sounds exceptionally moving and full of inspiration. Any baby or child who receives a diagnosis of cancer is heartbreaking. I always send prayers for families dealing with cancer and am happy when it is beaten. Great review!

I commend the author for sharing his family’s challenges in battling the cancer suffered by their son Lou. This will be beneficial to readers especially those sharing the same situation given that it’s informative and enlightening.

I really have heard of so many stories and remarks on people who are cancer survivors. I also know how dreadful cancer can be. Truly one should never lose hope. And of course, the hidden heroic effort of their loved ones. In this story, his parents. I do not know how I would react reading the story. The review says medical procedures were described. That would be nice. Aside from being informative, perhaps this would be the and my in-between rest and respite from the emotional experience the story will impart and offer.

I'm glad that everything ended well for this family. This is such an emotional and inspiring story. But I'm not a fan of memoirs that talk about illness. So I think I'll pass this one. Nice review.

'Official Review: First Survivor: The Impossible Childhood Cancer Breakthrough' by Mark Unger is a thorough and enriching account of the story of the author's son for readers. It well summarizes the contents of the book for avid readers. The point that the author told the true story of his son's healing journey from a devastating diagnosis of "zero chance of survival" to his designation as the 'First Survivor' is worth mentioning in the review. Also, as mentioned in the review, the point that Mark's comments about how they dealt with all the financial and insurance issues were appreciable is remarkable for readers. It was great to learn that Mark and Mary Ellen's example is a guide for all people who find themselves in a catastrophic medical situation where they need to go up against the behemoth of big medicine!

This is a wonderful review, I love the topic, the author writes a book that will live several years after him. I draw inspiration from this book and I will learn how to check my health status at all times because of what I learn here
