This is definitely a very useful self-help book, but I don't think I'll adopt the 6 C's just yet. It's very relatable too. Great review, Mounce!

While I'm not one for autobiography/self-help type books, this sounds like a very motivating, inspirational book, as well as informative. Even I find similarities in myself to codependent behaviors, especially avoiding any form of intimacy. I was also unaware that that could be considered a codependency trait. Some topics discussed could be triggering for some people, so readers should be aware of that. Overall, this autobiography sounds like it could help many other people who are struggling with the same things that the author touches upon in this book.

I love happy endings, fiction or otherwise and I am looking forward to digging into this novel to find out how the author survived the challenges she encountered. I commend her sharing her experiences and being a tool in helping others to learn from her mistakes.

I'm not an avid reader of motivational/inspiration novels so I don't think that this book will be a good fit for me. I'm going to pass on it but I'm sure that it will be a better fit for others.

This book is basically a self-help guide for those who have low self esteem and the book is even better with the 6 C's.

The author tells an interesting story. Her childhood experience led her to poor choices and loss of self esteem.

Thanks for the great review and recommendation. These kind of books seem to minister specially to the reader as if the minister wrote the book with you in mind.

I like your review and how much you connected with the author. I too have had similar experiences when I was growing up like the author's upbringing. I have struggled with self-worth and self-esteem just like you have which is why I agree with the author that realizing you have a problem is the first step to changing yourself. I love that all of the sections are divided into certain themes as well as the appendixes in the back of the book.

It sounds like this book was very helpful to you. Codependency is many times a lifetime cycle that is hard to break. This book seems like a great read for anyone looking for balance in their life.

It sounds like this book couldn't have fallen into a better-suited reviewer's hands. I'm glad the revelations in the book spoke to you on such a transformative level!
There is no frigate like a book
To take us lands away,
Nor any coursers like a page
Of prancing poetry.
This traverse may the poorest take
Without oppress of toll;
How frugal is the chariot
That bears a human soul!

Based on your review, it seems this book is a bit of a cross between autobiography and self-help books. I don’t know that I would enjoy reading this book based on your summary but I am glad that it has such a profound impact on you! A book that good deserves to be shared!
