A memoire about the author's past experiences who worked as a Peace Corps volunteer in Nakhon Phanom. The place where he met his wife, Phoorita. Having read the sample and read your review, have made me interested to finish the book. Thanks.

The cover of the book led me to think it was a totally different book. It's interesting to see how in this book you can find so much knowledge of work such as the Peace Corps Program that gets little mention. I like that the author shared his way of overcoming bitter and painful emotions. Thanks for this helpful review.

I too am not aware of this program and I think it’s great that the author shares his experience with us. I wonder what happened after he fell in love with this girl. It’s a pity, the amount of grammatical errors found, hopefully another round of editing is conducted. Congratulations on BOTD

James seemed to have been the quientesential young man trying to find where he fit in after the structure of high school. In the tumultuous period of the Vietnam War era many young men were seeking to run from the war by dodging the draft or run to the war by enlisting. James seemed to master the former. But I'm not sure that his time in Thailand actually left him feeling any more satisfied with life. The unfortunate broken heart that has never healed is another diversion of maturing

A memoir that is heavily centered on the culture in Thailand. I am a great fun of memoirs. The fact that is reveals the culture and traditions of Thailand is a plus.

Reading a book about Thailand may be interesting to those who want to learn more about this country. Because of the military background present in the book, I will be passing. Thanks for the review though!

An entertaining and educative memoir about the author's experiences as a volunteer in the Peace Corps Program. The author shares on lost love, culture, friendship, adventure, and hard work. From the review, I am curious as to how he managed his new found love and completing his volunteer term. Thank you for your great review.

Volunteering for something impactful is quite interesting. I love the fact that the author decided to share his experience in this memoir. I'd love to know how his love story ended. Thanks for your honest review.

This memoir shares the author's experiences and pulling through as a volunteer in the "Peace Corps Program" amidst language barriers, societal challenges, irregularities, and corruption. He met and fell in love with a Thai girl. But is his love enough to conquer the challenges he still faces in Nakhon Phanom? This is an insightful and entertaining book, and a good book review. Congratulations on the BOTD!

I knew the Peace Corp Program existed but have never heard much about what it does in the countries in which it operates. This sounds like an interesting book that will help me learn about what they actually do. I might have to read this one. Thanks for the recommendation!

The book is interesting and I think the author tried hard to make the reader understand what he had done as volunteer of the Peace Corps in Thailand. He wrote very detailed glossary and terms in Thai.
Your review also very good. So his memoir is worth to read, and I'm sure that the readers of nonfiction will like to read this book.
