I could imagine how tough it might have been for the author to write this book out in her POV. Dealing with such unfortunate incidents are definitely challenging and devastating. Her perspective of 'men' must have changed so much after the incident. Yet, the author is still able to share her experience with such detail and I am glad that she is doing well now. :D

Very interesting read! For anyone, man or woman to be sexually assaulted is such a violation. Abuse in general is so painful. Most of us have experienced abuse, in some fashion or another! It is a person mistreating another person in an unkind and unlovable way. Being violated in this manner can be so debilitating! Thanks for sharing your journey and finding healing, forgiveness, and restoration after such an experience!!

Voices of hope by Kristen Irwin a true story. The Arthur told a story about being raped and how it affected not just her but her friends and family. I loved how the book is written that family and friends told there story and told how they were affected by the rap. This book brought back memories for me and feelings that I didn't realize were still there.I liked everything about the book. I went through the same thing and now I realize that I should have talked about it more and that it's really not to late. I realize that I have a voice this book made me think and realize that my family and friends were affected by my rap they were there for me and most of the time I pushed them away. I should have talked to someone instead I became angry and depressed. I will will read this book again after reading this book I feel like I should take my experience and use it to help others that were abused and raped . The Arthur needs to know that she did a very good thing writing this book she will help others.

I think it's amazing that the author was comfortable enough to share her story of rape, its effects, and how she was able to move on. It's good to know that the actual act of rape is left out as I'm sure it would be too much for some to read (including myself). I'm glad the author was able to find some joy in her life, but of course the act of rape would leave lifelong scars. It's too bad that the chapter near the end left a lot to be desired, but it's good to know that it was well-written and that it gives good insight as to how to answer some of the tougher questions. It's good to know that you found this to be inspirational and enjoyed reading it. Thank you for sharing!

Thank you for your thoughtful review. As a former Victims Advocate who worked alongside Forensic Nurse Examiners doing assault exams in the ER, I can't tell you how pleased I was to see this selection for BOTD. I enjoyed the review and applaud the author for her bravery and for sharing her story. I particularly like that she included the POV of her friends and family; secondary victims are the silent victims. Congrats to the author.

Rape is a horrible thing, and much respect to the author to write about her experience and also to reach out and help others who have had to live through a similar trauma. Surviving isn't something one has to do alone, and I am moved by the sections where the author's friends and family also got to share their support.

It's definitely interesting to see the author including recollections of her family and friends, and the story not just being about her. It's also good to know that it's not graphic or depicting the actual event, would could be horribly triggering for some. Thanks for the in-depth review of the book.

Based on the reviews this is not a book that I want to read. I dislike reading memoirs and self-help books. I also don’t want to read about such sensitive issues such as abuse and rape. I will pass on reading this book.

This review examines some very likely questions raised in the book with regards to persons relating to someone who is a victim of rape. The assurance that these questions have been addressed is a magnet for me towards this book. As an educator, I may at some point have to counsel students who may be faced with this unfortunate predicament or they have to live with the knowledge of this occurring to your sibling. This first-hand advice on how best to handle this delicate issue is highly appreciated.

It is important to speak candidly about rape, and how it affects the survivor and their loved ones. Thank you for sharing your take on this.

First, it takes so much courage to share a story like this, so I have great respect for the author and her friends and family. Just reading the first few pages was emotionally charged and I think it’s critical at this time in our culture to read this kind of story. Though it may be uncomfortable it is important to understand the consequences.

How do you overcome the guilty or depression after rape?Voice of Hope by Kristine Irwin is an ideal book to help you through this, from the author, the best way is to open up,share the scenario with helpful friends and relatives; accept yourself and move on.I am happy despite The fact that the author is a victim,at the end she understands men and get married.

Memoirs always have this amazing effect because they are written from the heart and with so much emotions. The fact that this is one is about overcoming rape makes even more heartfelt. Thanks to the author its free on Amazon Kindle. Thanks for the great review.
