The story of endurance and courage of a sixteen year old boy Davin J. Douma when he was charged of murder and subsequently sent to prison. Written by his mother Bonnie J. Hall regarding the experiences of Douma during the trial and imprisonment. I liked the sentence by Douma in this book saying that the endurance is a true measure of ones character.
life is only knowing the unknown, we can do this by reading books easily- Online book club is a great place for this. This is what I believe.

Thank you for your moving review. Life is unfair, but we are expected to play by the rules. Quite a paradox. Davin's life is an example of how adversity can make a man the better version of himself. I am not in jail, but Davin seems to be a freer person. May his life's lessons be learned by many. I intend to.

What an insightful review. What a heartbreaking tale for a mother of three myself to read. The idea of supporting your 16 year old son through this murder charge and then having the courage to tell the world about it. Bravo.

From a sampling, this is not your average novel. While the narration may seem a bit haphazard or confusing when it switches between the different authors, the story overall flows rather well and contains a lot of vivid details. Well Done.

'Official Review: Reaching the Shore by Davin Jake Douma and Bonnie Jane Hall' is an elaborate reading content. The reviewer does the fair job in informing the readers that the story has been narrated from the point of view of the author's mother rather the author's.The reviewer's opinion about the author being sentenced to life in prison is precious!

How terrible it must have been for Davin, his mom, and family to watch this sixteen-year-old be accused of murder and sentenced to life in prison. I love that you found the writing to be beautiful and that the book was able to open your eyes to the reality of prison. Too bad about the errors, but it's great that you found this to a book that many should read. Though I think the violent and brutal aspects of prison might be too much for me, it does seem like a story that should be told. Thank you for sharing your thoughts of this book that will most likely generate a lot of interesting discussions. Glad you enjoyed it!

I am pretty sure that a story like this sharing what happened to a mothers imprisoned son. The may obstacles he faced behind bars and the strength of the mothers insurance to be there for him. I would imagine there will be some touchy subjects to hear in this book. Although I feel this will not be a boring story, ita just not something I want to read right now. Congratulations on BOTD.

The topic of prisons and prison reform can be polarizing, yet it is an important issue. In practical terms, youth in adult prisons is a delicate process given the nature of their crimes and the development of these individuals. While the age of some of these juveniles at the time of their convictions would suggest that they were ill-equipped with the maturity to recognize the nature of their discretions, the offenses themselves lend themselves to the level of these punishments. So, it is a challenging process to navigate the best way to handle the offenders.

Lifetime imprisonment at the tender age of sixteen sounds like a nightmare. For Davin J. Douma, it came true. The book narrates his journey through the prison system, revealing some heartbreaking lows reconciled by David's resolve for self-improvement.

An inspiring story about a young man who was sent to prison at the age of 16 years. This book is set to open readers eyes to the reality of prison and the necessity of prison reform. The man was let down by everybody he look up to in his life. Thank you for your honest review, I am glad that this a story that one can't forget easily.

Very interesting read about a Mother's experience regarding her beloved son. He was able to take a tragic situation and turn it around to improve himself, and then played it forward by helping others! Thanks for sharing!

An inspiring and thought provoking story of a young man imprisoned for life for a murder he may not have committed. Davin's descriptions of his experience in prison should move us to advocate for prison reforms. #BOTD
