This sounds like a very interesting book! I would love to read the complete book. Her life sounds like something that someone in my family has been through. Very interesting!

Thanks for the comment. There are many people who feel that certain dogmatic religious beliefs are oppressive. For instance, this author believed that her parents' religious belief in the following was oppressive and did not feel true: "That if we obey God and our elders, he will reward us if we asked in Jesus name. If we don’t we will be tortured in the Lake of Fire for all eternity."

Many people find this to be oppressive and have sought solace in more love-based spiritual practices. I hope this helps explain it.
