Thanks for the review, but I dislike memoirs/autobiographies, and I definitely don't want to read an emotionally heavy one with New Ageism included. Those three strikes mean that I'm out.

Abuse is a subject that I feel can drain me of all my energy. I like that the author had the courage to speak about her trauma.

I respect the amount of courage it took to not only write but edit and publish such a raw piece of literature for the world to read. PTSD hits close to home for me as it does for Jeanette and I believe seeing others who are fighting the same battle as you win is imperative for healing. I truly hope this books reaches everyone it is meant to touch.

I think I'll pass on this one for now. It sounds too much like the one I'm reading now. Almost everyone has obstacles to go through in life. The next book I read will be more upbeat. Thanks anyway.

This is a great review. In reading the sample, I can attest that it would be wearisome to read 300+ pages of this subject matter. I am very happy that she has a successful story to tell. I hope that others benefit from it as well.

Seems Jeanette has had a seriously hard time of it. So many things have gone wrong in her life. Hopefully writing this book has helped her come out the other side of the tunnel. I'm sure it will help others who struggle.

It sounds like a heart-wrenching story about one woman's journey towards healing. It takes a lot of courage to be candid about these types of things and I applaud the author for being so open. It is too bad about the errors. Thanks for the great review!

This is an inspirational non-fiction memoir on perseverance, enduring loss, grief, drug addiction, and PTSD. The book is free on Kindle Unlimited and has a unique OnlineBookClub review that highlighted the book perfectly. I rated the book 3 out of 4 stars. Congrats on the BOTD.

The raw emotions behind the writing of "Journey to a Safe Harbor" by Jeanette Orme makes is uniquely interesting. I am happy that the protagonist was able to overcome and recover fully her past that was full of abuse, death of a lost one, PTSD etc.

This book sounds like an understandably heavy read. I appreciate the thought that must have gone into creating it, and hope the best for the author in the future! Thanks for an insightful review!

Memoirs and self-help books are not my cup of tea, but I've read the review and should say that Jeanette Orme has experienced a lot in her life and has studied and learnt a lot about addiction and PTSD. And I also agree with the fact that our minds have an immense power and can help our bodies recover, grow and strengthen. I believe the book will find its reader. Congratulations on becoming BOTD!

Very important subject and it's truly admirable that author dedicated her time to write something to guide and help people to acceptance of terrible loss. But to me - book's content is way to grave, so I will have to pass this one.

This sounds a little heavy for me personally. I hope the author found writing this beneficial. Thanks for the review!

After reading the book review for this book, I think I am going to give this one a hard pass. I do not think that I would be able to take the emotionally draining part of the book, as I have issues that I had in my past that may trigger bad memories. Thank you for an honest review!
