This premise sounds quite intriguing; combining church and feminism is definitely something I have never come across before. I was quickly reeled in by the question that the author asks readers. I am interested to read about how the teachings of The Bible can be integrated into a feminist's life. Thanks for the engaging review!

Juxtaposing Feminism and the Patriarchal nature of the Bible is a great idea. I crave for the findings

It seems to be strictly for Christians and feminists and I am sure many of them would love the research and well referenced material to ease their belief and actions, I personally don't belong to either ethical group but I appreciate the effort spent.

This is one of its kind- feminism discussed from a biblical point of view. It sure sounds interesting. Nice job.

I didn't really have much information about christianity and its relation with feminism. I appreciate this review especially for mentioning how the author began and developed her research. I would like to check it out someday.

This is one review that I staunchly disagree with, though, I suppose, I do agree that it was professionally edited. I found the lack of discussion on Mary, who many agree is the literal "Second Eve," to be a detriment to the book. The beginning of the book is written from a self-victimizing stand-point from someone who's parents are willing to pay for college. Her own argument of "being called to ministry" could be negated by the fact that she married prior to finishing any degree, then had children, pushing back ideas of higher education until the children were older. If she felt "called," why would a man come first? Isn't that the antithesis of her point? And why not talk about Mary, when she's viewed as the most important woman in Christian theology? Your review is well-written, though I heavily disagree with your kudos.

This is bold step taken by the author on one of the most controversial subjects of discuss in our time. However, its better to look at it from the Biblical point of view or vantage just like the author did. I like this book. I would love to read it.

Some label this as a “feminist” issue, but I see it as an issue of humanity. Like the author mentioned, we are all created equal and in the image and likeness of God. That doesn’t leave much room for the discrimination that has been created by people and institutions. I think until society understands the deeper meaning of human existence, we are always going to have a fight on our hands for some race or group. This book seems to show the flaws of deeming something as a sin when in fact, God gives it His stamp of approval.
Everything happens for a reason...

It is a good thing to have this book to know other people that men and women is equal . Stop gender descrimination. You don't even know that you descriminate one people can cause a depression. That's it and this is my opinion only :)

Honestly in a book as long as the Bible, written throughout who know how many centuries in different languages you can find anything. At least for once it's something in favor of women, not against them.

I don't enjoy books on feminism. Still, this one seems well-written, researched, and edited. I like that her husband helped by writing a forward.

The second Eve is a book on feminism. It discuss Women's right in the perspective of biblical equality. This is a much debated topic but the "Second Eve" presents this topic in a really enticing way. I'll really love to read this book. Thanks for this wonderful review.

How touching that the bride of Christ ' the Church ' is the second Eve! I was wondering if I the bible did mention it.
