Re: Official Review: The Gratitude Effect
I hope you enjoy it! I found it to be easy to read and quite practical as a daily guide to being grateful. I liked how the author rounded out the book by explaining why we so often fail in developing gratitude in our life. Thanks so much for commenting!LiLeaBrand wrote: ↑19 Dec 2019, 02:20 Wow! The exercises are very helpful. They help you to reflect on the main points of the chapter and assimilate them before you go on. I enjoyed the author's thoughtfulness in providing prompts to journal at the end of each chapter. Hope you enjoy the book. Thanks for commenting!Ever_Reading wrote: ↑19 Dec 2019, 02:51 This book sounds interesting and educational. I particularly like the inclusion of the four exercises at the end of each chapter; it encourages the reader to take action and apply the lessons being taught. Great review. Thanks!

The author addresses these points in his book and explains why we need to work at being grateful. It is an inspirational and uplifting book. I hope you enjoy it. Thanks for commenting. I appreciate your encouraging words.MustaHarleen wrote: ↑19 Dec 2019, 08:49 Wow! This is a must read for me. The hardest thing for humans is to 'not focus on negativity.' Consequently, gratitude is an alien word to many. This is an inspiring book and I love that the author has included cases to prove that his methods do work. Thanks for an amazing review and congratulations.

Thank you for your thoughtful comments.derialist wrote: ↑20 Dec 2019, 09:06 I enjoyed reading the review it's very informative and I'll be looking to read the book. However, I disagree with some of the ideas the book puts forward particularly the suggestion of being grateful for the negative things that happen in our lives. Not saying it's impossible but it's one of those things that is easier said than done. It's human nature to feel bad about the negative stuff that happens to us, it's in our natural programming and I think that developing a perspective that is contrary to our natural programming would require a lot of willpower which I think defeats the purpose of trying to achieve gratitude in our lives. We should allow ourselves to feel bad about the negative stuff without having to feel the need to change our overall attitude towards it.

The Challenge the author presents in the book is unique. I appreciated the fact that it wasn't just a week or two week effort. He really wants you to make a long-range effort! Thanks for your kind words!Stephanie Elizabeth wrote: ↑20 Dec 2019, 12:39 From the sounds of it, this book has more to offer than others like it! The thought of practicing what you read makes the book very practical and easy to relate. Great review.
