I am looking forward to reading Lina’s story. How did she overcome the horrors of her childhood? I loved the description of your emotions as you read her story. This is a wonderful review and an exceptional recommendation!

So many emotions at once. I can't contemplate them all. Great review.

The Sugar Queen by Lina Kennedy sounds an interesting but emotional book. I feel for Lina, what she went through. It's sad how some father's take advantage of their daughters and molest them sexually. Worse enough is when those little innocent victims lack someone to be there for them. I will have to give this book a try even though i will need enough rolls of tissue while reading it. Congratulations on the BOTD. Great review.
Books are beautiful.

This is an amazing inspirational autobiography which highlighted the journey towards overcoming obstacles, determination, and hope. The book is temporarily free on Amazon Kindle and has an awesome OnlineBookClub review. I rated the book 4 out of 4 stars. Congrats on the BOTD.

She sounds like an amazing woman to have overcome such adversity and achieve so much, while still being a great mother.

This sounds like a powerful book! She certainly had to overcome many obstacles – the fact that her earliest memory was one of sexual abuse blows my mind – and it would be inspiring to read about. Thanks for the review!

Such a well detailed, informative and honest review. I'll be checking this memoir out. Lina is very powerful and brace I must admit. For her to have done the things she did at such a tender age, I am thrilled. Her story is overwhelming and includes a lot of emotions wrapped into one.

Sexual abuse in the family and alcoholism are sensitive topics and timely and relevant. I am looking forward to dig into this novel not to pry but to know how the main character was able to rise above these very difficult challenges in life.

Due to the sexual abuse and alcoholism, I would not recommend this book to children or teenagers or anyone that feel triggered by this subject matter. I am however thrilled to add that there is zero use of profanity and I feel it will be an excellent addition to anyone’s library.
It was a great review and I'm glad you mentioned the amount of sensitive subject matter. I was wondering about it because of all the abuse she endured. I am usually much more drawn to a true story. And when it's more amazing than fiction and written by a talented author, what can I say except, "Show me the download button."

Thanks for your spent time and effort in order to give us the information we need to make a good choice.

Sincerely, Laura-Lee

by your blood, out of every tribe and tongue and people and Nation." Rev. 5:9

Sounds like a powerful book. I was assuming it to be one anyway as it's selected as the BOTD on Women's day. 🙂 Very well written review. I am reading this one for sure.
