Family values are very common in Asian cultures, I wonder why fathers are always portrayed unfriendly and rude in korean (south) dramas. Anyways good review, thanks

What an amazing story! It is heartwarming to know that Moon met someone in Chaplain Vadjay that changed his life for the better! This sounds like a very inspirational book. Thanks for the great review!

I don't think this is a book for me but I enjoyed reading your review. It is certainly an inspiring story about perseverance.

It's nice that Moon allowed himself to be influenced by the kind deeds of Chaplain Vajda and wanted to imitate him. I, though, am more inclined to serving Jehovah because I've seen his hand in my own life in different ways. Everyone to his style, nonetheless. Thanks for the review.

Although I do not doubt that this gentleman had a very interesting life, I am generally not interested in memoirs are religious stories. Good review, though.

I am a new reviewer and was looking for books to read when I came across this review. I am not a religious person, but I am always interested in how people find peace in religion. Maybe my interest comes from the fact that I am not religious myself and do not have those spiritual experiences myslef :eusa-think: . This review is amazing and this people will definitely go on my list. Growing up around alot of South Koreans I have an invested interest in stories related to North and South Korea. I am really interested in reading about this mans journey and the method (religion) that he chose to use to cope with an unbelievable tough life. Thank you for the review :) .

As a christian, I respect the fact the story exemplifies good leadership all through. Moon was strong and yielding to a life-challenging influence. Although it is best for Christians, it is more about quality leadership and maturity. Great review!

I don’t usually like biographies and this sounds like one I will have to skip. I think I would be upset and triggered by the graphic violence. This sounds like an inspirational and moving book and I thank you for your honest review.

I love that regardless of the travails of Moon's childhood, especially after the death of his grand mother, he was able to turn the tides of his life and become a renown missionary. That is inspirational.

Great review

From the sections of the book that I read, one can see that this is a very well-written piece of work. It's not the type of book that I typically read, but I am certain that there are many who will be inspired by the tale of Shang Ik Moon. Congratulations to the author on receiving BOTD honors.

An interesting biography of Mr Moon is nicely presented in the book "The bulletproof missionary" by Keriz Rosado. Moon had a smooth childhood only for a while until his grandma was alive. Later Christian missionary gave meaning to his life. The book appears worth reading.

From what I have read so far this is going to be an interesting, if somewhat emotional story. I did feel Moon's father was a good, honorable man but I could not help wishing he had conveyed his feelings to the young lad a little better. It is sad to read a child thinks a parent will forget them. Thank you for the excellent review.
