As someone who has sisters, I know how powerful the bond can be. This sounds like a heavy, heart-wrenching read about overcoming obstacles, relationships, and addiction. I am sure both the women suffered immensely when their dad disappeared, but Lisa's suffering seemed to manifest into a desperate cry for help. I am glad her mom and sister were able to stage an intervention, and I hope Lisa could get the help necessary to heal her wounds. Thanks for the lovely review.

The story sounds touching, the fact that Sharon and their mother intervened in Lisa's life shows the importance of family and their unconditional love. Great review!

I usually avoid memoirs, but this one seems warm and beautiful. I will think about reading it.

Lovers of well-written memoirs will surely gravitate towards Lisa and Sharon's tale of their lives. The telling of the tale from each of their respective perspectives likely gives this book a unique feel to it as well.

""It was a balance not only of body and gravity, but of caution and daring—as much a test of his confidence as an assessment of his coordination” (loc. 85)." - This line caught my attention also. I agree the writing in the sample I read is good, straightforward and detailed. I also enjoyed the quotes at the beginning of each section. It must be very difficult to be a sibling or family member knowing something is wrong with another and feeling powerless to change the situation. The title "In Hindsight" is very appropriate for this story, as often (though not always) things seem easier to solve when time has passed. Thanks for the excellent review on the book, it is easy to tell that this one moved you.

Thanks for your review. The family love featured in this book is quite beautiful. I'm glad that Sharon (and their mother) were able to make up their mind and try to help Lisa out of her miserable state.

A nice riveting memoir "In Hindsight" by Sharon Bonanno and Lisa Scott, which focuses on the life story of two sisters, Sharon and Lisa, whose parents divorced when the sisters were kids. Later, things got worse to Lisa until she got help. The book appears to be inspirational to me.
life is only knowing the unknown, we can do this by reading books easily- Online book club is a great place for this. This is what I believe.

It is not often that one gets to hear two sides of the same story - it immediately piqued my interest when you mentioned the sisters wrote each from their viewpoint about the same happenings and ordeals in their lives. I find myself strongly believing Lisa got her act together, else she would not have been able to write such a memoir.

This sounds like an excellent book! For a memoir to be written from the views of two people sounds very interesting! I hope Lisa and Sharon were able to form a tight sibling relationship! Thanks for the wonderful review!

Thanks for a great review. This sounds like an interesting story of two sisters who had a tight bond. It is interesting to have the story told from two perspectives. That is unusual and enables the reader to understand both sides of the story. From the portion I read, I agree that the writing style is very engaging.
