Outstanding review...thank you!! I've added this to my WTR list.

Best fit for adult readers, the author of today's BOTD shares the emotional trauma he suffered the first 20 yrs of his life, due to his difficult and dysfunctional upbringing. The detailed descriptions and included photos in this autobiography, move the narrative along at a nice pace, while helping to paint a picture in the readers' minds. I'm looking forward to reading this, as I believe there is always something to learn from others' experiences. Thank you again for the helpful review!

I really appreciate the fact that the author has written such a raw, honest and captivating autobiography. It takes a lot of courage to reveal one's flaws to the world. I hope the author's life has finally turned out the way he had hoped .

I liked your review. I also got bored with authors ancestry history, I felt like it went on and on. I overlooked that and finished reading the sample of the book. I did add this book to read because of review and the part of his story that I had read.

I found the sample of the book in some respects interesting. I enjoy history and genealogy. From his account, the author was born into a dysfunctional, alcoholic and abusive family. I would not describe his father as good, but I can understand in the eyes of a child compared to others in his life, he would seem good. Thanks for the concise review.

This book is a heartwarming story of the author's life which proves to be an inspiration for others to overcome the circumstances and conquer the demons.

So sad that he went through that. No one should have to go through abuse like that. I don't think I will be able to handle this book.

This is another book that reveals how an individual is influenced by childhood events. The author shows how he overcame years of multiple types of abuses and became the man he is today. Thank you for your review.

I'm not a reader of autobiographies, so I won't be adding this book to my reading list. However, Thomas's determination to overcome a difficult childhood is definitely commendable. Those who have passed through similar experiences might find his story comforting. Thanks for your review!

When you are brought into the world by parents who don't understand themselves it's torture. Those who come out to tell the tale are heroes to so many. Congrats to the author. #BOTD

I'm not particularly fond of memoirs, especially those that deal with any kind of abuse. So I'll be taking a pass on this one. However, I wish the author the best of luck in finding a readership that will benefit from the lessons presented in his life's story.

This sounds like a very compelling autobiography! I could relate to the part where you talked about Thomas' father being an alcoholic, but "he was a good man." I had a brother-in-law who was the same way! This book also sounds like an emotional read that I'm not sure I am willing to read! Thanks for the insightful review!

A great review but honestly I don't love reading autobiographies . Still I would say this story sounds an inspiring story which will resonate with most of the people here who had gone through the same thing .
