Surviving Chaos, by Harold Phifer sounds like an emotional book. Growing up in dysfunctional family is always painful. Thanks for your review: it gives an insight about the book.

I like fiction (horror and sci-fi) more than autobiographies. I am, however, glad to hear about his adventures in Afghanistan and other places. He was really lucky to get out of his situation with so little damage.

This sounds like a great read! I enjoy memoirs that have humor to them. I got burnt out on serious memoirs for a while, but this book sounds like one I would enjoy so I will have to check it out! Thanks for the awesome review!

This sounds like this would be a pretty intense read, though I'm sure the author's sense of humor definitely helped to lighten the mood. I generally don't read non-fiction, but it seems as if the author did an excellent job telling his story in an engaging manner. Thank you for your review!

"Surviving Chaos" by Harold Phifer - The author writes about his dysfunctional start in the world attributed to his schizophrenic mother and greedy bullying aunt. The writing is light and fast-paced allowing the reader to follow-on easily. Thanks for the review.

Most persons who encounter emotional and physical abuse never seem to come out of the trauma. I like how the author uses his life experience to teach and strengthen his readers. Thanks for your review.
