Family secrets is something many people can relate to. This seems like an emotional read about a girl struggling from family betrayal.

Wow! Great review! At first I didn't think this was a book that interested me, but after your review, I've changed my mind. Thank you!

Today's nonfiction BOTD focuses on one woman's quest to find her true identity and place in the world after finding out the only dad she's ever known is not her biological father. Readers will find her story to be emotional and relatable, and even fans of fiction will enjoy this one, as it's filled with mystery and suspense. Thank you so much again! :-)

It must be an absolute shock to your identity to find out something of the sort. I know that with the newly available DNA home testing many people are going through similar stories, so I guess many readers could find this book relatable.
Thank you for your review!

An autobiography that addresses the subject of how family secrets can affect a person's life. The author's life is marked when she finds out that her father is not her biological father. Fortunately, she manages to find a way through her self-discovery. An option for those who like memoirs with mystery and family drama.

I would be interested to know the mother's side of the story. Was her betrayal to her daughter done out of spite or did she have a good reason out of concern for her daughter. Could there be a good reason? This is a thought-provoking book. Thank you for your review.

It seems like a beautifully written book. While I can't understand how it feels to know that your family isn't your biological one, because I haven't experienced it first-hand, I see how it can affect someone's self-esteem and their identity.
You mentioned about awkward pronouns, and I have come across such instances in a few books, and it can be really confusing. But, you've done a great job with the review.

I can't even imagine how heartbreaking it would have been for Kimi when she found out about her father.
This book sounds like a well-written book full of intrigue and emotional appeal.

Wow, this book sounds so interesting. I imagine this sort of revelation left the author with such pain and a lack of identity. How brave of her to put this experience out there for the world to read. I hope she finds the closure she seeks. Thank you for your detailed and honest review!

This fiction drama is wonderful. I don't normally love to read drama novel but i think i should give it a try because this book grasped my attention, especially when kimi Jackson found out the truth about her man she called father. I wonder how i will feel if I experience such. Good job! to the author for all the flashback in the book. Congrats on your BOTD!

Author kimi kick started her story very well with a twist as her dad is not her biological father only then she remembers how her grandmother treated badly..
Its really more hard once we felt inferior we could never possibly raise our head before society.. I wonder she come out from her disgusting circle is a miracle..Identity -" the fact of being who" makes her visible to others.. Many of her wrong decisions lead the right path directs to light.. Eagerly waiting for the suspense.... Nice review..

As we grow up, the adults in our lives have such a profound impact on who we become! To learn as you get older that things were not as they seemed can play havoc with one's emotions and self-esteem. I can understand how the author must have felt to find out her dad was not her biological father could affect her so strongly! Thanks for the great review!
