This sounds like quite an interesting memoir! Opening the doors to the past and sharing one's deepest, and not-so-pleasant memories is very difficult to talk or write about. It sounds like the author did a wonderful job! Thanks for the excellent review!

I don't like reading memories, mostly due the fact that with my personality type I consider sharing your private thoughts and emotions unbecoming. The genre seems to me almost voyeuristic. Unfortunately, I will have to pass this book, but still would like to offer my congratulations on BOTD!

Thanks for your review. It seems Ouellette has a rough childhood with her stepmother and stepfather, but it's good to know that she has the strength to overcome her trauma.

This book promises to be a good eye opener for some folks, for me not so much as I have lived some of the events and not into re-living any of them again.

I like when authors are not afraid to share their life stories, especially the dark parts. This seems like a well-written and detailed memoir. Thanks for the informative review.

Raw and poignant are the first words that came to my mind after sampling this book. I am upset by what happened to Jeannine. The narration is so innocent, expressive, and vivid.

It appears to be a moving memoir in which the author writes about her family life in a non-linear way, which is an interesting aspect. It seems suitable for those who enjoy stories based on real family dramas. However, it includes disturbing topics such as pedophilia and sexual abuse.

This seems a powerful memoir, It is unfortunate what some children go through when growing up in a broken home. Thanks for your review.

I usually find books where the story line is written in a non-linear fashion to be a bit confusing. Luckily this doesn't seem like it'll be a problem with this book. I applaud the author for deciding to share her trauma.

Thanks to the author for sharing such a heart-touching story. It takes courage for someone to share a story of how she was sexually abused. I hope people learn something from this story, most important someone who faces the same problem. Nice review.

It's an inspiration story,it shows that many pass through a lot in their young and teneage years, and not many can talk about it. The author has shown much courage which makes her unique.

How did she cope with the sexual abuse, or how did she tackle it. I will like to know this so that I can counsel others in the same situation. Wonderful review

Great review! it's amazing as the author had the courage to share her life experiences. It's true life isn't the bed of roses but she actually went through a lot. I would like to read this book too.

I love the unconventional way of the timeline, starting in the future going back to the past, it gives different vibes. I am interested to learn about the hardships she has suffered but managed to pull through out of them.
