The book being based on the older generation doesn't hinder the younger generation from reading the book. I love that it is educational.

The topic of aging is very important as we are all getting older. Certainly, older people can be empowered to take control of their lives and be motivated to pursue and achieve goals in life. I believe that the inclusion of personal stories provides a more realistic perspective of how to face with aging, apart from statistical data.

I checked out the Amazon sample, but it was just too dry for me to maintain interest. Still, this is an important topic, and I applaud the author for his initiative. Congrats on BOTD.

It seems like an informative piece for these changing times. It's suitable for both the elderly and youth. I'd really love to see what's inside.

Sounds quite helpful for certain age groups, but thankfully I wouldn't have to think about this for some years yet. I do have in mind several people to gift such useful guide and thereby thank you for bringing it to my attention and congratulate author on BOTD!

This book will help younger people understand the elderly better. Many times, the elderly have issues they never dreamed they would have to encounter. Thank you for your review.

Although this book does contain rather a lot of data and statistics on various challenges related to aging, health and care of the elderly, and caregivers, it does also provide stories that can encourage older people to live a happy and healthier lifestyle as well as some useful tips and advice.

One of the challenges faced by older people that Weiss brought to the fore was the prevalent issue of fraud. Weiss highlighted the contributions of modern technologies like 'automated dialling' and 'robocalls' in perpetuating these fraudulent activities. This showed the other side of technological advancement and how it could cause havoc on the lives of unsuspecting victims. The author provided some tips that older people and others could employ to avoid being victims.
I can attest to that. My father-in-law fell for one of those scams in which they told him we had been kidnapped (my husband and I). We were in the next room, but older people sometimes are afraid of technology because they don't understand it. I'm glad this subject is broached.
It was commendable that the author included personal stories of people. For instance, I enjoyed the stories of seventy-two-year-old Nora Hall and sixty-two-year-old Greg Gerritt and how they adapted to retirement. These stories allowed me to see the working effects of growing older asides from the statistical data presented by the author, making it all the more relatable.
Personal anecdotes always make cold facts or abstract concepts more relatable.
I intended to read this book because I wish to know more about how to care for my aging mom and parents-in-law, but I'm not sure so many statistics would be beneficial. Thank you for your honest review!

Ageing is something that scares many people, and I commend the author on tackling this. However, I don't think this book will be a good fit for me because I don't read non-fiction.

Well, it's a general belief that growing old means you are moving towards death. Therefore, I think must have a great deal to convince readers against this notion. However, I agreed with the author that older people can still be empowered to take control of their lives. Congrats to the author on being the #BOTD

While this book seems to make some valid points regarding the problems faced by old people, I'm not sure about how changing the perception would work. There are various aspects like financial situation, health issues, fear, etc. that would need to be considered, and it's definitely not easy. Also, I'm not a fan of non-fiction books, so I'll be skipping this one, but I hope it benefits the people who read it.
