I certainly understand your perspective. I think not even all fans of non-fiction will find it enjoyable; I know I enjoy more suspenseful stories. But the book did have a lot to enjoy. It is just better suited for a specific audience. Thank you for taking the time to read and comment on my review, Nazzo! :tiphat:

I love memoirs. Real people going through the hurdles of life and how they face the challenges are quite enticing to read.

I'm afraid that I enjoy stories with suspense and/or humor. I don't think this is the book for me. However, I enjoyed reading your informative and interesting review!

Musical talent definitely runs in this family! I would love to hear Henry's family members all playing together.

Thank you for your thorough review and your respectful account of this memoir.

I also don't know a lot about music, but enjoy reading about mastery of all kinds. Someone who got into an orchestra despite being discouraged from playing must have been truly talented! I often don't prefer memoirs in connection with the drawbacks you mentioned (they get dry or confusing or both), but I enjoyed your detailed review.
This post was brought to you by the word "specifically".

This book sounds interesting and it also gives insight not only to music but also to passion, it was Henry's passion for music that took to the places he went and to the people he met. Such an inspiring book I'll definitely read th.is book. Thanks for the honest review

As a rule I like memoirs, but the monotonous writing style and too many names sound quite discouraging, to be frank. I guess, music history lovers would find it amusing though. Thanks for a great review! :)

Totally understandable. I tend to enjoy the same, and was a bit bored by the book. Still, it can be a great book for many. Thank you for taking the time to read and comment, Prisallen! :tiphat:

Thank you for sharing your thoughts with me, ButterscotchCherrie! I could only imagine how Henry, his father, and his sons used to play on their respective instruments. I also tend to enjoy non-fiction books, but I do understand the book’s purpose and am sure someone will find it perfect for them. Thank you for passing by! :tiphat:

I agree. We should all have a passion towards something to keep us moving forward, and such a memoir surely helps to inspire individuals to pursue their goals. I hope you enjoy it! Thank you for sharing your thoughts, Limitless! Happy reading! :techie-studyingbrown:
