This is one of those books that I remember liking but couldn't tell you what it was about a week later. Pleasant but forgettable.

I agree, Black Kats Cradle. I know I enjoyed the book, but when it comes to mind, all I can see are scenes from the movie rather than images from the book. The book, itself, is not memorable, apparently.

I saw the movie then read the book a few years later. I thought the book was very good, it cleared up a few things that weren't really fully explored in the movie. The movie did a good job of presenting the basic story as well as a few of the major events from the book while the book filled in a lot of the nuances of what was happening. The movie made more sense to me after reading the book. Had I done it the other way, read the book then seen the movie, I think I would have been a little disappointed.
