This book will really help Harold's generation of today. I will like to do the same thing that Neil did, research his origin and startimg from his ancestors.

Who'd have ever imagined an author taking on the history and narrative of his ancestors and earlier generation? Neil put such great work into this book that I can't imagine how wholesome it'd be to get my hands on the book and read it. Your review was quite informative at its best. Well done.

It would be great to also see old technologies and objects as compared to their modern versions, especially cars and others. I would love to learn from the author's limitations in terms of financial resources and academics in his early life too.

What interet me in this book is the inclusion of old fashion of materials and belongings. It will be enlightened and informative to come across the picture of these material like the bath tube. Well done on the thorough review.

I love it when children plan their future from the beginning of their lives. In this book Neil was able to see his future and work on it.

Thank you for such a detailed and thoughtful review! Your insights highlight the rich history and emotional depth that "I Have Calluses on My Hands" offers. It's encouraging to know that the sincerity and authenticity of Harold Henry's storytelling resonated with you. As someone who hasn't read the book yet, your appreciation for the family's journey and the book's meticulous craftsmanship has certainly piqued my interest. I can't wait to dive into this historical narrative.

This is such an interesting read. To be able to trace your family ancestry back so far requires time, effort and probably money. Working with his father like he did probably created a closeness between them both, and provided some interesting history.

Congrats on BOTD!
The review masterfully conveys the book's authenticity and depth. I would recommend it to fans of biographies, autobiographies, and American history because of the authenticity with which Neil's father, Harold, shares his life story. eager to learn more about this poignant family history and its fascinating story.

This book seems amazing, indeed. I love the idea of writing a journal of your family, this helps to trace your heritage and lineage. Neil's father seems to have treasured all the gems that made the family what it is today. I am glad you enjoyed it and I think I will enjoy it too because of how sincere and we'll written it seems to be.

This is an invaluable recollection of memories, not only for the author's family but also for the world in general, as a way of understanding the personal narratives that conform to what we know as "the past." I wish we all had something like this book to understand our personal histories. Thank you for your review.

Nice review! I’m all for preservation of family history as is. However, funny enough, the idea of writing my own father’s memoirs was something presented to me recently. Perhaps, this BOTD is a nudge for me to take that suggestion into serious consideration.
